You guys are hilarious! Everyone always keeps me laughing and entertained! I started to have some spotting this last week so I am going to go back to the doctor tomorrow. It's not alot but I thought I was through with everything, you know what I mean. I'm sure it will probably be nothing and then I'll be embarassed that I wasted their time but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.
Hope everyone has a good week.

Just an update......CT Scan showed inflammation in the lower part of my colon. I think it is called the terminal illeum. They diagnosed me with crohns disease and started me on a medication called Entocort. Today I took the third dose and I tell you. It must be doing something because I am not as bloated and not in agonizing pain. I still have a little discomfort but it is tolerable without pain meds. Almost like a little annoying twinge that will not go away. I honestly think I am constipated and once the inflammation goes down and I start going I probably will be brand new ...YIPPEE. I do feel an increase in energy already and a sense of well being. I hate to have a chronic disease but atleast I know what I am dealing with.

Hey ....where is that housekeeping thread everyone is talking about.

I am sorry to heard about your divorce SUZ. I practically begged my DH to leave me because I felt like a burden but that booger just wont go, It has to be hard but you have to do whatever it takes to make you a happier healthier person.

jill6577: hope they find a solution or answer for you...keep us posted.
bethany: you are so young for this problem, but I'm glad you finally have a diagnosis!

I'm trying to put together a plan of action for separating from my husband...I'm wondering if any of you have advice about how you spoke to your children? My boys are 16 and 13...this is the part that terrifies me...I'm not so naive to think they don't know what's going on, but I've never directly addressed it with them, not wanting to tear down their father...may parents used me as a ping-pong ball during their split and I won't do that to my children. I thought I could make it another 5 years until the youngest one is 18, but I'm not at all convinced that's what is best for them. I've had peace for the last week since I finally have given myself a break ... thanks for your well wishes, advice and prayers...

Sorry to hear about everyone's relationship and health problems. I will be sending prayers your way.
Went to the doctor yesterday and he said that I was having granulation at the vaginal cuff and got the silver nitrate treatment. He also is trying me on Estratest for my hormonal issues so I'm hoping that will help and I won't have too many horrible side effects from it. I have to go back to the doctor in 2 weeks to see how it's doing. Thanks for the support and I will continue to think about everyone who is having a hard time right now.

Assure your boys of the following:
-- that you and your hubby think you can be better parents to them if you're not together and fighting. (as my husband's ex-father in law said, "if you can't get along, get apart")
-- the separation/divorce is NOT their fault
-- you will both continue to love them, regardless of what goes on between the two of you.

jill6577 - I take Estratest and love it! I haven't had any side effects, and it worked wonders on the hot flashes and other fun menopausal symptoms! Of couse, it doesn't keep me from peeing my pants when I sneeze - but nothing's perfect! Hope it works well for you too.

M - you won't tear down thier father by being honest with them, you can put things in terms they're old enough to understand, yet not share the ulgiest stuff. I'm so sorry you're having to do this, but I'm SO proud of you for doing everything you can to help yourself and your kids!
Love and hugs,
K

I remeber having to tell my kids, at the time 10 and 4. They were angry at me for a while, blaming me for their Dad leaving. It got much better, as they are 27 and 20 now, and understand more.

I told them that we couldn't be together and get a long, and we loved them, as mentioned above.

I also think it works better if you BOTH sit down adn tell them, this way the see you are both in agreement, and there is no mud-slinging going on.

You also need to lay down some guidelines, that neither one osd better or worse than the other. You both need to keep the same rules and expectations for the kids, and not play one against the other.

It's tough, but can be done.

Hopes and prayers for strength to you and yours

mollief, I totaly recomend the book "the good divorce". It has lots of tips on co-parenting in two families. I divorced when my kids were 10, 7 and 1. It is best if you and their dad can talk to them together. They definately need to be told they did not cause the divorce and you are divorcing because you no longer love each other, but you both still love them. If you have some idea how visitation will go or what the future looks like share it with them. If you don't know yet be honest and tell they you will let them know. If you believe it to be true tell them they will still get to see their father. Don't promise things you don't think will be true.

I personally don't think children should get any details about their parents relationship. You don't love each other anymore is plenty in the why department. Even if your ex beat or raped you it is not worth sharing, unless you feel like they are at risk. Remember insulting him is really insulting half of them! Besides each child has a right to love both their parents no matter how bad they are!! Sorry about going on and on- clearly I have strong feelings!

Bethany, Glad you got a diagnosis. Hope you continue to feel better.

Hope all else are recovering well Starting to have days where I even forget about surgery for a brief while
