shopping rebound

Ok, ok, so maybe I shouldn't have shopped all day yesterday - I didnt even brush my teeth today until 2 pm! Whole family is telling me NOT to overdo, but it is hard not to - I figure if I can stand up, I'm ok, and then I pay the price. Actually took 2 percoset last night (4 hours apart) for pain - and that let me sleep in until almost 10, which felt really good. I let everybody do EVERYTHING (read: all of the dishes!) and we ate off paper plates. Not a biggy, but it has always bugged me until today.

jamalota: I know exactly how you feel about hovering and not adding into this stuff, but I feel a little better about typing stuff now, so I'm glad you joined in, too.

New Year's Eve - we usually go out for an early dinner with dear friends, but my kids are usually at their dad's, too, and now they are here. So, I will let my dd pick out recipes for appetizers and we will eat snacky stuff and drink non-alcoholic stuff (unless I can convince my dh that it won't hurt me!)

Anyhow, I learned my lesson about not doing too much - not gonna even try to do much for the next several days!

Hope you all have a great weekend...

My surgery was on dec 17, im 2 weeks out. Still sore and sensititve around the scar. Dr. removed uterus and tubes left ovaries. Had to have an abdominal surgery due to the size of my uterus-BIG-appearantly it was the size of vacation housing! all surgical doctors and nurses made coments on it during my stay at the hospital. hysterectomy was due to fibroids that were the size of a tennis ball!

Had Surgery the 18th, starting to feel pain now

Well I had my surgery the 18th. Vaginal, ovaries and cervix. No packing, cath, IV, and moraphin the first night. Everything gone the next day, up and walking, shower, everything on my own. Was sent home the next day with perks and an app. on Jan 31 with Dr. My problem is I have felt fine, walking in the house constantly, doing what I want. hubby doing laundry. I cook myself eggs, but other than that not eating much more. Everytime I eat though I end up in pain afterwards. I have had plenty BM so that is not the problem. Also at night I am in so much pain I feel like my insides are rotting out of me. I have a bad odor and can't figure out why, I wash 2x a day. I am bleeding heavier now then when I had it first done, but not anything like it was before the surgery. Now the bleeding is minimal compared to then, but still heavier since I have been home, and redder. No incision on the outside of me yet it kills me to cough. My stomach feels like it's getting bigger and sometimes hard. Most of the time though I feel fine, pain wise, until night time. Any ideas? Also I haven't gotten dressed or went out anywhere, just staying at home.
I would like to say a hugh THANK YOU to all who calmed me down before my surgery and basically held my virtual hand when I whinned on here. You helped me not be so affraid when the day finally got here.
Thank you again.

Hi all,

I had vaginal hyst on the 18th, went home on the 19th, about 24 hours after I woke up. I feel just fine. I don't have to take care of anyone but myself.

I read these boards before the surgery then thought I'd check in to see how I'm doing compared to others at the same interval. I skipped to the last page and see Nakitta in pain, bleeding, and worried about odor.

I'm worried about you. We had basically the same procedure. My doctor told me I should have no bleeding, just a slight discharge, and that has been so. I'm only wearing a Carefree mini-pad....it's a little more than a panti-liner, but nowhere near a regular pad. Please call your doctor.

PS - I don't know if age has anything to do with it. I am 46.

Nakitta, I'm worried about you, too. I have no medical knowledge at all (except what I've learned here and about my condition), but that doesn't sound too good.

Is there any way you can get in to see the dr. before the 31st? That's a longs ways off! Or even just go to the ER. It would be worth the trip to make sure nothing's wrong.

Please let us know how you're doing.

HI all - got a late start posting today...have read all of the above though. Seems to be an OK day, I am a bit tired and did take 1/2 perc this morning. Some mornings the incision hurts quite a bit. Maybe I am content to be lazy because I tired m yself out yesterday when I went out for lunch. I am going to make reservations at one of those Japanese restaurants where they cook in front of you on the Hibachi for dinner tomorrow night (NY Eve). I will go early with my kids to avoid the crowds etc. Just for a little change of scenery and menu. I will keep it low key today so I feel OK to go out tomorrow. I might consider adding an evening movie too if I am OK after dinner. I generally have a quiet NY Eve so this is in line with what I usually do anyway. This will however, be the first NY Eve I am sure I won't make it until midnight and that is OK. I think it is better to go into 2008 properly healing and rested....
I ate pizza for lunch today...this is the first "real" food I have eaten (beside yogurt, eggs, toast, you know easy stuff) I hope it sits OK, although I am happier with my smaller appetite and have lost a couple of pounds. It probably wont last too long....anyway great day to all - Later - Suzyq

Started with LSH ended up abdominal

Thank God for this website. I was scheduled to have my LASH on December 19th (turned into an abdominal because fibroids were too large) and had a pretty good idea of what to expect because of this site and two others I searched for info. My help (family) also web active folks, read as much as possible and when I got home my room was ready with side tables, body pillows and lots of healthy things to get me healing and moving again. this is the end of my first full week at home and I feel very good. My staples were taken out on Thursday, my steri-strips are holding on pretty well and I'm down to two motrin a day. Thanks again, sisters. I'll be back!

Nakitta, I had a TAH/BSO and only had a discharge while I was still in castle I did not have and have not had any since then I had by surgery 20th in the evening and was sent home 23rd in the morning. I think as far as your energy you are probably doing better than most since most of us have had good days and hard days and we are tired but it sounds like you are doing well in that dept. I would be very worried about the discharge and smell including the feeling you have. Please call and get checked out as soon as possible if nothing else you will have peace of mind as well. Please keep in touch an give us an update. Talk to you later

as far as me - still doing my house laps, took my afternoon nap and read part of a book.
So does anyone notice the pouch thing when they walk and how it hurts when it kind of bounces? TMI, but wondering if the lycra underwear would help with support? since the relaxing me is wearing are cotton with pj pants with obviously no support. any other suggestions anyone?
