Hi southernlady,

I'm a bit surprised that your incision has not healed after a month. Have you had a post op visit yet? As far as bleeding, I haven't had any bleeding since leaving the hospital. I'm feeling great and I'm heading back to work, released from my doctor for all activities starting on Monday.

I'm off to the treadmill for a morning run. It's snowing this morning, so no jogging outside today!

Take on the day ladies!

I agree ..... you should probably call your doctor about your incision Southern Lady... Seems like it should be healed by now.

I haven't bled at all since I've been home from the hospital....not even any spotting.

I'm SO jealous that you are JOGGING on your TREADMILL!! I can't wait to do that, but my dr. said absolutely NO exercise until after six weeks... <sigh> Plus, I really don't think my belly could take it. It stills hurts after up and walking around too much.

I'm about to head out for my first morning of driving kids to school......<fingers crossed>

I'll tell ya what ladies, one thing that has helped me tremendously are my Spanx. If you've not tried them, you should. They hold my tummy in nice and tight when jogging. I only did a mile this morning, but it felt great!

i ask all about rectal presure last night- but not really many with it i guess. then googled it and searched it on this sight. not what i wanted to hear- ok to be honest i freaked...lots of info on prolapse, hernias, and various other problems.

I am so glad today is my 4 wk post op visit... and I am praying this is just another normal healing issue.

Hi Mollief, I just wanted you to know there are women out there like you experiencing recovery along with marriage demise. I am in the middle of a divorce but still living with husband. I know that's odd to most people, but it works for us for now. Anyway, he drove me to hospital and basically dropped me off at 5 am the day of my surgery. He didn't feel like waiting around to support me before or immediately afterwards. That was hard, but in retrospect I really didn't want someone to sit there and be stoic anc cold just for the sake of having him there. Yes the emotional part is magnified during recovery given your relationship. I wake up feeling good but by lunch I find myself in a crying jag out of nowhere. I have long been on anti-depressants and had feared going into menopause because of the mood changes. So here I am grasping onto estrogen to stabililze the emotional part. I am returning to work today. I work at a hospital and was so afraid I would break down and cry while on the job. I have wimped out three times this week when they are over-staffed and looking for someone to put on-call or green I agree. But I am going to face things today. I have to sooner or later. I suppose having work does have its salvation as far as distraction. Maybe that's what will help you. At any rate, my marriage was an 18 year one, so I can relate to you grieving. You are right, its a process and you are in the initial stages. I had a year of therapy, but it's still a loss and much like grieving a death. Take care of yourself. You're not alone

Southernlady,
What type of incision did you have? My incision came open on one side a little (about 1 inch on the left side) and is still in the process of healing 4 weeks after the fact. I asked my doctor at my appointment when he looked at it and he said because he did a bikini cut (lower than my bikini tan lines so no one would see my scar) so low and glued it together as opposed to staples/stitches, not to be too worried, that it would scab over and heal. That being said, I would still call and ask the doctor just in case....

As for jogging, my doctor told me I have to wait an additional 4-5 weeks before running or going back to bikram yoga?!

Good morning ladies- I am hoping today will be a good day....possitive attitude right???? Anyway I am glad to see that everyone is doing well. I can't believe some of you are jogging. My MD said no exercise for atleast 6 weeks and she is not even letting me go back to work until 7 weeks. I think I am doing ok if I can clean the house. I still have a sick teenager at home no fever today so hopefully she will be back to school tomorrow. It is cold here today only 4 degrees and snowing...looks pretty. Suppose to be a cold weekend so I might have to make some wild rice soup to have this weekend it is such good comfort food. Anyway have a great day everyone. talk later.
