I can tell we are all starting to feel better, as our posts are getting less frequent!

My big news is I SLEPT ALL NIGHT!!!!! Without taking anything!! I think the benedryl was my problem all along! I'll still keep all those natural remedies in mind. Thanks SO much for all of your recommendations!!

Naturally I felt great today after a good night's sleep! Alot of energy, and no real pain for the first time since surgery. Still tender, of course, but I went to the mall and walked around quite a bit without worry. yea!!

Blue Willow... glad you are feeling great. Good luck to you!

Fit&ready.... first off, sorry to hear about your mom! Gambling can be VERY addictive!! You asked about my family and country music. I am a singer/songwriter and I have three cd's out, but I'm not a nationally known act. I have a small fan base that is growing, but I'm sure you haven't heard of me. However, my husband, myself, and my oldest son all play for different country music artists as part of their bands when we tour. If you like country music, I'm sure you know of all the artists we play for (but I don't want to name them on here for obvious reasons). Of course, luckily most country singers don't tour much over the winter, so it's been a great time for me to have my surgery. We were all home and dh and ds were both alot of help.

But back to your Mom and gambling..... i don't know if you know this, but alot of casinos now book country music acts, so we all play alot of casinos throughout the year. I see SO many people spending TONS of money at those casinos and they really don't look like they can afford it. It's sad sometimes..... I admit that I like to play the slots a bit. We get bored and just want to spend time off the tour buses.. so i'll go in and play a bit.... but I know when to quit.... some people have a problem with it, like your Mom. I think there are several casinos in Northern Michigan where we have played.....I can't think of the names of them right now. My husband's grandmother lives in Jackson, MI and I know she likes to drive up to the casinos too. Aren't there some outside of Detroit too? I believe she said there is a shuttle that will drive her there and back. We worry about her too. She just seems to go TOO MUCH and doesn't have the money to be wasting.

Anyway, i know how you feel... hang in there....

Fit & Ready- I bet there is a family support group for gambling addicts like there is Al Anon for family of Alcoholics. If there is run don't walk to get there. If not try Al Anon- addictive personalities are similar! Until you take care of you there is little you can do for her .

I head back to work Tuesday and other then being tired feel good- probably better then I have in years!! I realized I haven't had a flooding in over a month now- how cool it that!!! I also no longer pee every two hours and can even sleep through the night sometimes!! It is AMAZING!! I will probably still check in from time to time- continue my patern of reading often and posting rarely!!

Glad we are all on the road to health- even if some on a slower route Thanks for all the support!

Hi ladies,
Like the rest of you I'm getting closer to going back to work as well. I was supposed to go back on the 28th but I didn't want to start my first week back at school with a full week so I'm not going back until the 31st (Thursday). I will teach for two days then have the weekend off before I start again.
Is there another place to post after our month is up? It's nice reading from you all.
fit&ready - I am sorry that your mom is putting you thru this. You would think that families could give you/us at least a month to recover before they "need" to be taken care of again. I feel your pain!!

The thread won't go away--it'll always be here (I'm 99% sure this is true.). And, if you've got your email notification set up, you'll always know when someone posts to it.

We could all make a point of checking in during our "hysterversary" week. As long as the first person is willing to search for the thread, then it would be easy for everyone else to add their update.

Annie - Do you ever get to any of the casinos up in the northeast in CT? Mohegian Sun, or Foxwoods?

F an R an addiction is an addiction, food, drugs, gambling....we all have some issues, but I understand the feeling of deception. Maybe going back to work will be a distraction to you. I hope she is willing to go to counseling.

Those of you going back to work please post about your day back and how your clothes (and what clothes you wore) worked out...this way it will help me figure out what to wear!!!

I am hoping for a quiet night, and a good sleep..... got my food shopping done with the help of my daughter and now I can play on the computer a bit..... have a good one ladies - Suzyq

thanks all for understanding my venting- it really means alot. my dad is just so upset and its not like him to show it. he called and then apologized for bringing me into it. but she talks to me everyday...of course im going to be "in it." I told him he needs to talk to someone- like the paster of the church they sometime attend. he says she doesnt want anyone to know...i told well they will if i write a column about it. im sorry im just ticked off and i dont get mad often.

annie- there are way to many casinos up here. the one in Mount Pleasant is where she can go thats within an hour from home. oh and besides personally listening to country and with a muscian in the house (Ds) I also write for local newspaper and sometimes get to review country acts that come through the area. Sounds like you are a busy trio. Good luck on your cds. and if your ever up in saginaw-midland area give pm shout.

suzyq- you are right we all have our issues. facing them is a whole nother ball game. i will post and let you know how work goes.

housemd that sounds like a great idea... lets all keep in touch!

Yay for your sleeping!

Maybe you'll be inspired to write a song about us... now, let's see, what rhymes with va-ja-ja?

Seriously I was tempted to do some sort of presentation or art project about this, but most of the uterus references in choral music (at least) are about the Virgin Mary...

I have to admit, I'm thrilled we're all feeling better and getting back to our lives, but sad too that we'll be going our seperate ways soon. You ladies have come to mean so much in the last month, I've been grateful for advice and information, comparing the 3 P's, being able to vent and be honest, and you've made me LAUGH! I honestly don't know what I would have done without you all the last weeks! Thank you for everything! I'll be around for a bit too, hopefully 6 week checkups will go well!

How about "Don't Pout, Cross Them Out!" (I have a few others but they're not postable!)

Hysternursedeb - I go back to work on Feb.4. It is strange but I am so not looking forward to it. I have been sick off and on since the end of August. I was hospitalized 4 seperate times. Normally I am eager to go back but this time, I am just scared. I do not know why? Maybe hormones.
