I had a TAH on Dec 20. They removed everything. At least everything that made me a female! Anyway, I see my doc this Friday for a 5 week checkup. I have never stopped the bleeding. It gets heavier when I am up running around for awhile. But usually only enough to fill a panty liner sometimes 2.

My 5 week post-op is this Friday. I read everyones post and can relate to the same kind of pain and tenderness as everyone else. But never read that anyone is still spotting the way I am. I know that there is a cervical cuff and am wondering if it just isn't healing as fast as it should. Maybe I am just paranoid. Certainly this web site has been a god send for me. I may be paranoid but I am still normal!! I think!!!!

Hey,
Can't say I've ever had a "flat" tummy by any means but my tummy is still quite swelled, some days worse than others. I think the doc said it will go down with time, may take more than six weeks but it will eventually go down. You should be back in your bikini in no time! What grade do you teach? I teach 6th =) call me crazy!
curly88--
6th grade is crazy...I admire you! I taught high school English and now I am a dean at a high school...so I'm the one breaking up fights, pulling kids out of class, searching, suspending and giving detentions...at 28 it's a bit of a challenging, stressful job...and after the cervical cancer and TAH I'm looking for a new job so I can step back and enjoy life a bit more...

I'm glad to hear my stomach isn't the only one swollen...I was getting worried! We went to a bar last night for the football game with a big group and I wore jeans and was miserable halfway through (could be because--as my boyfriend gently pointed out--they're tight which is great until you're wincing in pain!)...drank right through the pain though... It's been my only vice during recovery and I'm hoping Betty Ford isn't my next stop after recovery...

I had a LSH and things are getting back to normal. Had fun our first try this weekend. No pain.
I rode my horse on Saturday. I didn't have the strength I needed, so those muscles will have to build back up. I was sore the day after, and again this morning. I was also tired afterwards. It still felt good to be out.
I've noticed the dry skin on my face. Reminds me of the 'Crypt Keeper' line from Jamie Lee Curtis. I've been putting moisturizer on constantly.
I'm back in jeans on a regular basis, but I'm still sore by the end of the day. Nothing that needs pain meds, but it just reminds me that I'm still healing inside.
I slept (well didn't have to get up) all night long for the last two nights. For the last few years I've always had to get up at least two times a night. It is wonderful to have the full use of my bladder. Now I just have to work on staying asleep all night long.

Well, you still have your mind, and your DNA... and you didn't grow a penis, right?

As for my progress, my skin is breaking out a little more, and my abdomen is still tender. Have my 5-week checkup on Wednesday. Go back to work 2 weeks from today (groan). Not ready for the new semester.

I spotted until last week at 4.5 weeks. The dr told me as the stitches began to dissolve I may spot again. Is it a bright red color or light pink or brown? If in doubt call the dr. Every body is different and healing times are different. Be patient with yourself.

ummm........am I reading into this right? fun as in sex? If not I apologize.

My husband was about to have a fit last night. We had tried external stimulation and nothing was helping him. LOL Guess what.....things still work inside and no pain. I washed really well inside and out and nothing was "deposited" inside. Now I just pray that I didn't help myself to an infection. We were so BAD! but it was good!

DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME! hehehe
