Searing Pain in Left mid abdomen 4 weeks post-op

Hello, I had my uterus removed 4 weeks ago..about 2 weeks ago i started experiening a sharp, hot, stabbing and sometimes just aching pain in my left side across from my navel. I told the GYN when i went in and he said it would go away.2 weeks later it is 10 times worse and i am eating darvocet like candy. I can't walk , get up from a laying position or straighten completely up without this aggravating the situation. I have had ovarian cysts removed and ruptured in the past so i know what that feels like. This IS NOT the same thing. They did a Cat Scan and all this GYN said was there was a cyst on the left ovary(was there before surgery also) and that in 4 weeks we should possibly remove it(The ovary that is). I am so angry and confused. The pain is excruciating at times. is there anyone out there that has had this happen?Any ideas? All help is appreciated. thanks for this site and your time! God bless and merry Christmas to you all!Anxiously waiting responses!

I went to my Dr. last Thursday with same type of pain in my right side next to my belly button. Doc said she didn't know what that could be from unless it is the muscles and nerve endings rebuilding. She did send me for a CT scan yesterday just to make sure she wasn't missing something and I'll find out in the next couple of days. I'll let you know what I find out.

I am a little confused. The doctor knew you had a cyst on your ovary and didn't do anything about it when you were in surgery? I would have wanted everything taken care of at one time. Did your ct scan show anything? I have lots of pain still, but I have a hematoma/seroma in my abdomen. That showed up on my ct scan. I am praying for you. I hope you find pain relief soon. Merry Christmas!

You have two issues here...................not only the source of, but the pain itself.

You should not have to endure the extreme pain, regardless of the cause. And, your comment, "eating Darvocet like candy", concerns me. Did your physician prescribe a different pain reliever, in light of the extreme nature of your pain? Too many Darvocet can cause serious problems with bleeding.........something you really do not need right now.

I hope you find relief......and resolution.......soon. Take care, Princess.......s.......Deb
