I hate pooping.....

Walk, walk, walk!! It helps, also try to drink water and eat some sort of fruit/fiber.....celery is what finally made me go without to much discomfort. My TAH was 11.14 followed by a BSO and pelvic lymph node removal on 12.20. Following the second surgery it took me 6 day to have a BM and it was miserably painful for 3 days. The more I move around and the more vegetables I eat the easier it gets.

I hate pooping.....

OMG I just had 3rd bm for today and thought i was giving birth- in fact have take to the breathing out form of lamaz when in the process.
I am so glad to find out i am not alone- like previous post- it feels as if insides are ripping out. I did start taking colace two days ago because of the "Travel" pain. thinking the softer would be better. still not too sure on that. i eat a ton of whole grain and fruits too.
glad there is light at the end- of the rainbow. lol.

i can relate.. but it HAS gotten a bit better since i've cut down on the ibuprofen.. that has helped a LOT.. but i have had some gas that has doubled me over in recent days.

Peeing isn't a lot of fun for me still...

I would steer away from apple juice... as it is part of the Brat diet my doc gave me once to stop diarrhea! maybe EAT an apple.. but not the juice... juice is not a great source of fiber in general.. and that's what you need.. maybe eat some oranges or strawberries!

I understand completely! I thought there was something wrong with me, and then I read everyones response. Every morning it is like having a baby or something and then I hardly have anything when I do go. The pain sucks! Hope you are feeling better soon!

Wow, I too am in the same boat! My insides hurt so bad, I have never been a real regular gal anyway, but I feel like my insides are just being crushed. I have tried stool softners, this fiber laxative pills, and for the past two days I have been sooo miserable. I guess I am going to break out the miralax. Hope that helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate pooping.....

I have "gone" successfully for the past 5 days, am currently 9 days post op from TAHBSO (wow time flies) What I figured out for me was when the gas pain starts and things are "moving onto position" I walk and I keep walking and breathing until it seems very close to "going". Then I go into the potty. I found the first couple of times going in too early and "sitting" was more uncomfortable than walking until just about ready. Sorry if this is too much info. I have been eating prunes, taking colace twice a day, benefiber twice a day and lactulose (like miralax) and going everyday in the morning. I figure when I start to go too much I will go backwards and remove things and see what I can eliminate and still be "regular". I may be at that point already as I had a little mishap this morning, suffice it to say it was NOT gas!!!!! hope things move along for all of us today... - Suzyq

I hate pooping.....

I'm taking stool softener 3 times a day and not anxious to stop anytime soon, as I'm scared of "a good hard turd"...as my husband would say. Anyway, I'm encouraged that it does eventually get better...the traveling feels like I'm just one big bruise inside...while it hurts every morning, I'm thankful that it is still moving.

suzyq. yes i found walking til that last minute helps me too- if i dont cramp over in pain, but the colace provided me with about 7 bms yesterday so am cutting back to every other day and maybe one tab instead of two. guess its a process.
I must say my swelly belly did go down quite a bit with all the movement yesterday...
