Laparoscopic Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy: LAVH - surprisingly good recovery

I had a lavh on Dec. 13 due to fibroids. I had an ablation in 2000, but it failed a few years later, things got continually worse so I decided to just get it over with.
I am so surprised and lucky. My pain level since the very beginning was very low,, did not even really need the percocet. A nurse who went over the surgery with me said that I would want the spinal thing they give ,, and I am glad I took it because the only pain I had when waking up was due to the fact I felt I had something in my eye! Only felt a little like menstrual cramps and that was taken care of very quickly. The nurses and my dr. were very helpful and kind to me.
This site has really helped me with knowing what to expect and how to avoid some post surgery problems. The gas-x was a good suggestion!
My sister took care of me for about a week after and pampered me so much,, it was awesome,, the only problem i might have had was laughing too much,, it was great.
Now I am home and still feel good. My kids are all older, but are all pitching it to help,, so I see no problems in the future either. I know I am lucky and am thankful for it.
Thanks so much for this website I know it has helped so much. Thanks!!
