Blah feelings.......anyone else??

I am 6 1/2 weeks post op. I have been through bad pain, hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, 3 bladder infections....and everything else that has come up in the past weeks. I am still on full restrictions and pelvic rest for two more weeks at least. I am starting to feel a little better healthwise...but still on perscription pain pills at least once a day from bad pain, the over the counter stuff doesn't help.

Now, I just have this nagging BLAH feeling. I am very blah about everything.....still can't vaccum and the house is a mess, but instead of being irritated about it.... I am just blah. Husband out of work for a week, instead of freaking like normal....I am just blah. Having to turn down invites to run around with friends, normally I would feel disappointed.....but now just blah. No feelings negative or positive........just blah. Anyone else feel this way?? Is it hormones still or the new pain pill maybe, or am I losing my personality...yikes!

I was really hoping to get off restrictions at six weeks, maybe I just don't have it in me for more down time. I have read 5 novels over 2 weeks and have not watched ANY tv in two days not even news. I just sit most the time and stare outside. Now, I can't go anywhere if I want to, my car broke down and it doesn't even have that many miles on it. BLAH! Should I talk to doctor about this or is this just normal post-op feelings???? Sorry this ended up so long.

Blah feelings.......anyone else??

Hey there,

I feel blah too...but it is weird. I have a couple of super up days, then I cry for a little on a day. I have no reason to be blah...not sure why I am!

I think I am going through some hormonal things even though I kept my ovaries. Usually, I would be ovulating right now, but I usually have signs of o'ing.

Anyways, I think we will get better!!

Feeling the same. A few good days and then a day of crying spells on and off. I hate this. I feel like a basket case. I went for my three week post op appt. and i felt sad. The appt went great. Doc says everything is healing quite well....but then here i set tonight...wanting to cry, not even sure why. Hate holidays too, for some reason its just harder this year. And i feel like im missing part of me. My friends seem to think the benefits of no periods is great. But im still weepy. I hate these feelings.

Yep, everyone says, "just think, no more periods." I am thankful for no more periods. In the meantime, I feel so so sad but then I feel so so happy at times.

LOL!

That is so funny. My friends say the same thing. I think they don't know what else to say. I wish I could remember when my last period was, maybe I am going through the feelings of a period.

Yeah, me too - don't feel like I'm dragging around a massive tumor anymore, tho, which is good -

LOL!!! I can appreciate that. I expected to feel a little empty, but don't. The reason for this expectation, was the fact I felt empty after the birth of my children...oddest feeling.

As to the 'blah' feeling; perhaps it is a type of depression. I read somewhere recently, people who have been dealing with sickness, often get depressed. We have expectations with this surgery that we will feel better once it is over; unfortunately, sometimes it takes longer than we anticipated, and perhaps we fall into that "'blah...couldn't care less" feeling. Perhaps you need to talk with your doctor about this, or perhaps call a therapist. I personally am calling one of the therapists my husband's work supplies for the mental wellbeing of their worker's and their families. Just a thought. Whatever happens, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
