When can I wear my jeans???

I lost about 40 pounds before my surgery and was determined to wear my jeans to an event I went to at about 2 1/2 weeks. Well, needless to say I had to leave early because I couldn't take the pain.

I am now 5 weeks post-op and went out Thursday & bought new jeans in a size larger. Wore them out to dinner Friday night, took them off as soon as I got home. Put them on today, daughters & families come for Christmas Eve. About 1/2 way through day, took them off & put on jammie pants!! Just couldn't do it anymore.

I have to say though, after reading that some of you are still having problems after 8 weeks worries me because I go back to work Jan. 7 and our uniform is black jeans. (Which I also bought a larger size) Hope for the best.

Jill MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

When can I wear my jeans???

I gave up and wore a winter white velour sweat suit to my family dinner on Christmas Eve. It wasn't as bad as I thought and at least I was comfy while I helped prepare the meal.

My belly button is still very stiff (after 3 weeks) with the surgical glue. I think this is one reason I'm uncomfortable in jeans. Does anyone else still have glue on them?

Hi...I had the DaVinci Robotic Lap surgery...my 4 incisions were glued shut....the glue was still there at my 5 wk checkup and the doc told me to be patient and let it wear off....I did peel one piece that was getting on my nerves and it ripped a little deep into what was a nicely closed incision and bled alittle...so that scared me enough to leave them...I believe they were gone by the following week...I did still have swelly belly after 8 weeks starting each afternoon and still could not fit into my jeans and had a few weeks before conceded and bought bigger pair...which I wore every other day, alternating with my velour sweats..LOL....it gets better...give it time...you are still early in recovery.....good luck and don't pick the glue!!!!

When can I wear my jeans???

It's been over six weeks for me and my jeans are still almost unbearably tight. Sometimes I have to leave them unbuttoned and make sure my shirt is long enough to cover it.

I am VERY tired of being all swelled up!!!

When can I wear my jeans???

I saw my dr. today for my 3 week post op. He recommended walking to help with the swelly, belly and pooch, thus helping me get back into my jeans. He cautioned me not to push or pull anything as I walked and that running was not okay. He said walking was great to exercise my stomach muscles gently and would help me feel better overall.

When can I wear my jeans???

I know its very frustrating, I had a tah on the 10th of december for large fibriods, which made me look 7 months pregnant, so I was hopping to loook nice and slim after the opp.
WRONG. I had no idea that you swell up so much, I wish there was a badge we could wear, " were not fat, just had a tah!" Lol.

When can I wear my jeans???

I found that jeans are a bit tight and even if they fit will irritate your belly after a short period of time. Be patient and find a pair of strech jeans or yoga pants on sale that you can enjoy through for a couple of months. I am 12 weeks out from TAH and still have a large band of swelling that is refusing to go away for now. Good luck!
