bladder sling and TAH

I am so sorry to hear about your bladder rupture. I just had a Total abdominal hysterectomy with the bladder sling. I can imagine what this is doing to you. Going in expecting to have just a few weeks of recovery and now looking at complications and looking at future surgeries.

I wish you well in your recovery.

Thanks. I'm hoping I won't need any more surgery. I've been doing kegals (sp?) daily so we'll see what the doc says at my appointment next week. It's nice to hear that someone had a successful bladder sling. I hope the rest of your recovery is speedy!

I had my TAH with TVT (sling) and a TT on Oct 23rd.
Before surgery I would leak lifting grocery bags, every time I coughed or sneezed, and everytime I thought I may need to use the bathroom.
The leaking with lifting and coughing and sneezing is stress incontinence, and the leakage from the sensation to use the restroom was urge incontinence.
I was given a RX for the urge incontinence, and the TVT was for the stress incontinence. I did not have spasms following surgery, but I think it is because i was already on anti-spasm RX for the urge incontinence.
The only problem I have now is some of the meshing from the TVT is till exposed, so I go in for day-surgery to clip the excess meshing and stitch the tissue around the opening (where the mesh was poking out).
I am really happy with my TVT as I have had a head cold recently and no longer need to stop what I'm doing to cross my legs and bend over to keep me from peeing myself.
