Morning sickness?

I had my TAH on the 6th of December (luckily got to keep my ovaries) and while for the most part feeling really well, wake up every morning with nasea. I remember feeling this way while pregnant with all three of my children. It usually lasts a little while and then seems to fade away. It also seems that I cry over everything. Has anyone else experienced this?

Morning sickness?

Daylrc,
I had a tvh on the 7th of December and I also got to keep my ovaries but they went into shock and I had to be put on hrt's. I had been having morningnsickness and mood swings since then and my Dr. told me it was because of the hormones they put me on and it should subside once your body levels out from everything it's been through. Kinda weird huh? Have you spoken to your Dr. about it?

Morning sickness?

Hi daylr,
I could have written your post!! Like yourself, I am very nauseated in the morning when I get up & it typically lasts until early afternoon. When I was discharge, they gave me 10 Compazine - which was gone by last Thrus. (One in the morning will do the trick!) I called the office to ask for more antinausea medication ... which they did call in for me. It seems to be getting slightly better, but some mornings it was so bad, I didn't get out of bed. I have made changes in all the possible etiologies (diet, trying to get smaller, frequent meals to keep a staedy blood sugar, taking my other medications at different intervals ... nothing works ....& it's not a bowel or urinary problem). So like you, I am stumped with the nausea issue. As far as emotionally, I feel the same ... maybe just frustrated due to my own limitations & the holidays around the corner ....
Take care of yourself & hopefully this too shall pass!

Morning sickness?

I had the nausea also. I came home with the pills too. Personally, I think it becasue of the pain pills and the anethesia clearing our bodies. Plus during the night you don't get any food coating the tummy. Plus the majority of us are not used to anything stronger than advil & tylenol.

It gets better. Mine resolved after the first 2 weeks or so.

Cheers,

Morning sickness?

All of that makes perfect sense. I would imagine that the hormones that the ovaries produce are kind of on overdrive right now. All I have been taking is dramamine for the nasea. I have some suppositories for nasea, but haven't been quite that desperate. I got those when the pain meds I was prescribed gave me a migraine so had 3 meds to take to make up for the pain of the one. I haven't talked to my doctor about it as he is out and I am not a huge fan of his holiday replacement. I figured when I went in on the 4th of Jan for my post op appt that I would chat with him then. Until then dramamine and advil. I am just glad to read that I am not the only one. Thank you.

Morning sickness?

Count me in with the nausea thing! Yuck! I was having it before my hyst. as well. I was right smack in the middle of perimenopause and my doctor said it was hormones. It did feel just like morning sickness (except when I was pregnant I had "all day" sickness). I am almost 10 weeks post-op from TAH/BSO so I don't have my ovaries. I'm on HRT and things do seem to be settling down. I took Compazine occasionally but found that ginger or peppermint tea worked pretty well, too. I hope you are feeling better soon.
