Numbness up to belly button

Has anyone experienced numbness from your incision site up to your belly button area? Is this a permanent thing or will this go away in time. This is a very weird feeling and I'm wondering if this is normal.

Numbness up to belly button

Is your incision from you pelvic bone to your belly button? Mine is and I had numbness for weeks. In fact, it has only been within the last few days that the numbness has started to go away, in some spots it is completely gone.

Numbness up to belly button

I think this is pretty normal. I had this with my c-sections and my hyster. It is like dull to the touch between the incision all the way to the belly button. My doctor suggested massaging my belly everyday. I still have numbness, but I think the massaging helped a bit. Ask your doctor if it really bothers you.

Numbness up to belly button

I had my surgery last week so I haven't experinced that yet but My C-section site never got feeling back in it and that was almost 18 yrs ago. There are a great number of nerves cut in surgery and they don;t always get the feeling back.

Numbness up to belly button

I had my TAH on Aug 21 and I'm still numb...sometimes more so than other times, but definitely not back to normal. From what I've read, this can last for quite some time.

Numbness up to belly button

My lower tummy was completely numb, I had the horizontal cut, not the up and down incision. I can now say, six months later, that the numbness is gone. It went away very slowly but is gone finally.

So hang in there it will get better!

Numbness up to belly button

maxicat

I was told that it can take up to a year for the nerves to repair themselves, if at all. I'm only a few months short of 3 years post-op and I'm still waiting! Having said that, I don't even think about it anymore ~ until I read a thread like this ...
