cj~ I hope it gets smaller. I can't imagine having something like that removed! Good luck.

DH and I did the "Deed" the other night. It wasn't too bad. At least it all worked I don't think I would recommend a nightly regime of it yet.

I also missed many of your messages and updates too and just spent time reading them all. I'm not getting alerts to my email like before.

I am really feeling so well physically, but have been kind of down and emotional. I think it must be a hormonal issue, because I am usually not a dpressive person. I didn't have my ovaries removed, but I think I still must be dealing with some kind of hormonal change. I think not working is getting to me, because I have nothing specific to do during the day. My DS is away at college and I have no DH so I don't have any specific responsibilities. I don't go back to teaching until Feb 6. I might drive up to Berkeley on Tuesday to see my DS, but need to check with my doctor if it is okay to drive for that long. I am not on pain meds any longer, so that won't affect my driving, but I don't want to hurt myself.

I am so glad everyone seems to be healing well. I am sorry some of you are dealing with hematomas. I still am sending you all my healing thoughts and prayers!

Sorry, it has been sooo loong since my last post,.

Sorry, for all of the infections and pain everyone is going through.

I had my surgery on the 26th also.

I have gotten an infection and had a hemotoma too..Went to the dr. yesterday and he said the infection is not all the way cleared up. Still on antibotics and fell semi normal during the day but by four o'clock I have the worst cramps and the bleeding picks back up. Dr. did not seem worried and told me your're stil recovering. Anyone else have such bad cramping at the end of the day like this????

Thanks Ladies,,,,,,,,

twinstwo:

Sounds like you and me had the same type of hysterectomy. I had the LSH with only three incisions. I only had my uterus removed also. But they removed the whole thing (thank God) I have not had any bleeding though. I even started my period the morning of my surgery passing huge clots but when I came out I was not even bleeding from my period. I developed a huge hematoma and had to take strong antibiotics also, but I have to say it has now shrunk to the size of a golf ball. I too am experiencing alot of cramping almost like menstrual cramping but from what I understand you can still have ovulation if you kept your ovaries. I would say you are bleeding because he left a portion of your uterus(don't know for sure) I hope you do not have the mini-periods I have heard so many talk about since he did leave a portion. My stomach is still very tender almost like I have been to the gym for a straight week or almost like I have a terrible UTI. I feel like my stomach muscles are going to explode at times. The hematoma has been a set back for me because I still can not lie on my left side and I still have to use my heating pad. My stomach looks uneven because the left side sticks out a little more. Still can't wear alot my clothes. I still am having the terrible swelly belly ecspecially in the evenings.

Try to get plenty of rest and Hang in there!!! It surely has to get better.

> I have a hematoma about the size of a tennis ball and hernia. Going to try and let it pass on its, for 2 more weeks then have another ct to check progress. If no shrinking then we have to take it out.

I hope they shrink! I am glad to hear that you are getting around and feeling better.

Have a bless day!

aaargh it's all going to be OK

I had a TAHBSO and a free ventral hernia repair 12/28/07. OB/GYN oncologist ( I LOVE him he is AWESOME) suspected ovarian cancer but never told me, got in there to do the TAHBSO for complex endo hyperplasia and found ovarian cancer, granulosa carcinoma . . . all in all he says very good news, not significant enough to stage but had to call it something so he gave it a 1A, well differentiated, no atypia, no node involvment, all washings negative and was unilateral, surgery was the cure he says, no chemo necessary. Bld tests every 3months, pet scan every 6. I healed WONDERFULLY, however . . . I have ALL of the same issues as everyone else I have read, I have odd sometimes strong pain in all 4 quadrants of my abdomen . . .I have to watch myself as I awaken feeling good and decide to conquer the world . . about 6pm however the world has conquered me and I feel as if a batallion has marched right over me. I had HORRIBLE sweats the night after surgery, and had sweats pre op, Dr. ordered a one time depo provera injection . . . 2 days since incjection which I had in the hospital before going home NO MORE sweats and they say by the time the depo wears off the sweat/hormone imbalance will be gone as well too. As far as restless legs OMG don't you hate it? ? ? no dh rubbing YOUR LEGS LADIES! ! ! I'm an RN and that will land you into blood clot issues in your legs, which can break off and go elsewhere . . .my doctor ordered prn Ativan to take at bedtime for the restless legs, I dont have to take it all the time, I find on the days where I pamper too much and don't move around alot I have issues, so walk in moderation, I found this helps, but hey everyone is different, continued healing and recovery to all of my sisters this website has been a GODSEND pre and post op . . . I did what I read and came out on the other side a SURVIVOR with little if any complications! I bought all of the recommendeds . . peppermint oil, gas-x strips, sleep mask etc. . . listen to your sisters ladies!

I am sorry to hear about your infection. Hang in there. I have not experienced irregular bleeding. I had cramps for the first three weeks but they were mostly related to constipation. This past week, I had cramps related to ovulation, but they stopped. At night I get a swelly belly and pain on my right side, but the pain is bearable.

I hope Dr prescribes you with the right pain medication to help you rest at night.

Good luck!

Hi tissymoe,

I have the same feelings. In fact, I cry with the commercials and the news and with I Love Lucy! I feel so pathetic! But it is all part of the hormone imbalance. It will get better!

Well its funny Because I thought it was me just doing to much but by 6 or so in the evening I have to give in too. Even though I feel like I am not overdoing it, I guess my body is telling me not recovered yet time to rest. I feel like I have aged so much with all this,

Good luck Parrotbay that was great to hear your news made me feel like mine was very small deal to yours and I happy for you it turned out so great
