had another bm tonight. feels like its ripping insides out. dh stopped on the way home and got me some generic colace. i will take some before betime.

I used colace or milk of mag. If your taking any pain meds make sure you take the colace because the pain meds can cause constipation. Its always scary the first time since you dont want to push. Drink plenty of fluids and try walking around a bit. Good luck.

Trust me, I felt the same way. My first week home, it felt like I was giving birth each time I had a BM. It does get better. I've been off narcotic pain meds for a little over a week now & it's so much better. In the mean time, try Miralax (it really is a miracle), drink LOTS of water, eat pistachios & almonds, fresh fruits, grains, etc. & take colace. I did all of these things & it really helps. I no longer have to take Miralax or colace, but I still try to eat plenty of fruits & fiber every day. I'm now back to my normal BM schedule. Good luck.
