I am six weeks post op and have had one complication after another.

I went back to see my surgeon today hoping for some good news (for once) but found out instead that I need to have another surgery. I have been on antibiotics since day 8 for a vaginal cuff infection that does not want to respond to the antibiotics. Now I've developed a very large vaginal cuff granulation. My doctor thought she could treat it in the office but once she got in there she said she needed me in an operating room because it was to large. She then moved me to another room so that she could get equipment up in there to see what was going on and found that my fallopian tube on my right side had slipped through a little hole in my vaginal cuff and is dangling.

They are suppose to call tomorrow to set up my next surgery. They will do one vaginally to fix the granulation and then another one abdominally to remove my fallopian tubes. Here we go again.

Has anyone been through this? My doctor told me I'm her first fallopian tube dissention problem. Apparently she's read about it and heard other doctors talk about it but had never seen it before.

Now I'm back to research, research, research.

I am not familiar with this issue. One place you may want to check out for your research is Web M.D. It's a legitimate site monitored by health professionals who make sure that the information put up is responsible and it has been a great help to me when looking for answers to questions about my TAH. The library of medical info there is huge. Of course, it's no substitute for talking to your doctor, but it may well have information on this issue that will help your research.

It's tough to have to go through surgery again. All I can tell you is to take care of yourself, ask your medical professionals about whatever questions come into your head, try to examine any concerns you have one by one, and know that the ladies here will do what they can to ease your anxiety. Please let us know what happens.

I'm so sorry to read about your complications. I'm not at all familiar with what you are going through, (other than having to be opened up again). My heart is with you.

Michelle, I'm so sorry you're facing another surgery so soon. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers, and hopefully, once this is over, you'll be able to look forward to a full recovery.

Hi Michelle,

I am your Joplin neighbor! In fact, my son went to Springfield today to visit a friend.

I am so sorry that you are going through all of this. Having gone through a little glitch myself and wondering...why is this happening to me?...my words of encouragement to you are:
1) Before you know it, you will be looking back at all of this and it will be a fading memory that you got through it and are glad you did it! 2) It is through the tough times that God reveals our weakness in ourselves and our dependence on Him. And 3) Because you are going through this, you with be able to help other women who will be going through the same thing...with more sensitivity and knowledge and fervor to do so.

Rest assured that everything will get all fixed, healed and better in just a little while...and hold on to that hope!

~Trina
