Why hot flashes NOW?

I'm healing well from my TAH but just in the past two or three days, I've begun to get hot flashes when I crawl into bed at night.

I kept both ovaries and haven't had any problems with this up until a few days ago. What's up? Anyone else have this problem?

Why hot flashes NOW?

I had everything taken and I started getting them this week too. I take my hormones everyday. I guess at night is better than in the day when other people will look at you strange when you start fanning yourself.LOL

Why hot flashes NOW?

it could be that your ovaries are not working at 100% yet. i'd let your dr know that the hot flashes just started now..if they become too bad or you have other menopausal symptoms, he might want to check your ovary function and start you on some hrt.

Why hot flashes NOW?

I left both my ovaries and have been feeling these as soon as 2 days post-op. I didn't think they could be hot flahes and attributed it to the pain pills instead. I get a hot flash and then a little nauseous - same thing? On night 3 or 4 I woke up drenched in sweat, but it was only that one night.

Why hot flashes NOW?

I had this too...I figure it takes a while for the ovary to wake up after the surgery.

Why hot flashes NOW?

I would definitely let your doctor know about the hot flashes, but a couple things that my doctor recommended to help counter those naturally are Vitamin E capsules and soy (supplements or Soy Milk). She also mentioned Femarin (over the counter) and Black Cohosh.

Hot flashes back at 8 weeks

I had hot flashes and night sweats the first couple of weeks after surgery and then they stopped. I was constantly freezing postop weeks 2-7. Suddenly, now at week 8, it's back to hot flashes during the day and night sweats the last couple of nights. So far, they are mild. Maybe my ovaries are still trying to fight back. I've also started having pulling again down both sides of the pelvis, which had stopped for several weeks also.

I guess I'll wait a few more weeks to see where this goes and then I'll be forced to call and make an appointment with my doctor. He's going to be thrilled! After 2 surgeries in 6 months and countless appointments before, between, and after, I think he is ready to be done with me for a year. I knew it was wishful thinking on his part.

Anyone else had these start back up again after stopping?

Hot Flashes

I too started get hot flashes at night. I would wake up soak and wet. I didn't understand it because both of my ovaries remained, I went to the Dr. yesterday and she said that my ovaries needed to be jump started so she put me on the patch and we will check the progress in 2 weeks.

Why hot flashes NOW?

I've had the same issue lately. I can freeze during the day but at night I have my own personal summer. I've been starting to get emotional again as well. Was that way post op days 4-6 then it went away. Started back up yesterday. The emotions could also be due to the time of the year and being more confined than usual. I don't go to the doctor until monday. We'll see what she has to say then if it is still occurring. Glad to know I am not in the boat alone.

Why hot flashes NOW?

Camich -

I have the pain starting up again too!! I was feeling SO good and yesterday and today I feel like I got knocked back a couple of weeks. I have the sharp pulling pain and then the nenstrual tyrp pain, but it is more intense. I was going to give it until Thursday and then call my Dr too if it doesn't go away!

As far as night sweats - I kept my ovaries and the first few weeks I had bad ones, then they went away now they are back but not every night like in the begining - just sporadically. Whatever there's that and cry baby emotions and I got a ZIT which I NEVER get - sheesh!! I think my body is secretly getting revenge on me for sacrificing some of it's precious guts.
