Bladder infection 6 weeks post op?

I had my TVH on Nov 16 and ever since when i am almosr finished urinating it hurts preety bad. The feeling went away for a couple weeks but now its back maybe a lttle worse then before. It dosent burn when I go just hurts when im almost finished going. Im not sure if its a UTI or not because I have never had a UTI that felt like that before. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I had the same feeling, it was always at the end when I finished urinating. I went for my six week check up and I had a UTI. I would let the doctor know so they can test your urine and give you some antibiotics.

I have had this feeling as well. I am six weeks out and it's there some days and not others. This is not the typical symptom of a UTI. A UTI will burn as you pee and you have an urge to go and little to nothing will come out. My fibroids caused all kinds of bladder problems so I am familiar UTIs. Doc says this feeling is normal and gave me a medical reason why that I can not do justice to by repeating (something about pelvic muscles). Call your doctor and have them test just to be sure. UTIs can wear different hats. Hope you feel better.

It's always good to check with your doc on something like this. Could be completely normal - I had some odd discomfort when urinating until at least 8 weeks or longer post-op. But, then again, if it is a UTI starting, you want to nip it quickly.

Good luck!

I am having the exact same feeling but just a week out.... I went to doc yesterday and I had a clean exam but they were checking for uti anyway they have to send culture.. I really hurt alot at the end and then have to relax to let out a little more... I think I will call doc again tomorrow because it was more intense today. I am drinking one glass of cranberry juice once a day but since I have never suffered from UTI this if a foreign feeling for me maybe my bladder is bruised.

I also had that problem and when I went in for my 6 weeks check-up they did a urine test and I did have a bladder infection and was on antibiotics for 10 days and just took another urine sample in today to make sure it has cleared up.

SAME HERE! I am 4 weeks post op from TAH. I have had UTI symptoms since the day they took my catheter out 4 weeks ago! I have a history of UTI's and it DOES feel the same as an UTI, but now on my 3rd UA and it is negative, so no UTI. Doc says it must be bladder muscles making me feel that way. ??!!
