Hard lump under incision

I am 2 weeks post-op (LAVH) and have what feels like a very small hard bump under one of my hip bone incisions. There is a similar (smaller) bump under my other one also. I am not running a fever but have increased tenderness in these areas also. Does this sound like normal healing or should I be concerned about an infection?

What you're describing sounds like normal part of healing. It takes awhile, but that tissue will soften up with time. Of course, if you develop a fever or it seems to be getting worse, check with your doctor.

Wishing you a wonderful recovery!

I have the same thing on my lower two incisions, nothing on the belly button. I imagine over time it will soften and sink in a bit like my old gall bladder lap incisions.

I am gently massaging the tummy. Nothing hard but sometimes I get those lumps and a change in position will help, walking or just rubbing them out.

Hard lump under incision

After having my TAH/BSO on 11.14.07, i experienced the lumps above my incision. On my 2wk visit to see my Dr. i told him about it and he took a look see. My Dr. explained to me, that it was blood that gathered there after surgery and to put a heating pad on my incision and it would dissolve away. I checked the other day and i know longer have those lumps.. Check with you Dr. and explain to him/her what you are feeling and see what him/her tell you.... Have a wonderful and enjoy Happy New Year!!
