Hey everyone! I am fairly new here...I had my LAVH January 2nd, 2008 and went for my 2 week follow up today. My dr. said I am doing really good, but she is worried that I will push myself too much since I am doing so well, so I am staying out 2 more weeks. I had a fibroid and something called, adenoysis? not sure if I spelled that right...

Sending tons of positive energy and hugs to everyone else who is recovering or going to have a hysterectomy!!

Hello Sissy and welcome! I had my LAVH the same day and also feel great! The only issue I'm having is sleep disturbances. I'm going to try a dose of ambien tonight to see if I can get a good nights sleep. Otherwise I'm all good. My job is a sit down job so I'm headed back to work on Saturday

Hello again!
Today brought no headache, so maybe it was just a plain old headache, and not the HRT. Today has been good, I helped DH do some light housework after he got home. Maybe I have been active enough to sleep tonight. It's kinda wierd, before the hysterectomy the ambien put me out like a light, I could even sleep in when allowed. Now I'm lucky if it gets me to sleep at all. Oh well it could be a lot worse, I'm sure. I've had sleep problems for years so it's shouldn't really be a surprise.

Good Night All & God Bless!

Julie, what a blessing! My favorite aunt has adopted a child with down's syndrome. They are still in touch with the birth family even after these past 14 years. The parents had a huge family...like 10 kids or something when he came along. They didn't think they could handle it. They went on to have two more children. They are very loving and my aunt and uncle are blessed. My aunt and uncle just recently adopted two more children and have two of their own

Also friends of ours has a down syndrome son. He's such a darling. Unfortunately he's not very healthy, has a weak heart, and his prognosis isn't all that bright. They don't think he'll live past 8. He's only 3 now.

della sue and julie it is nice to see others that can relate when your are going threw things like this it is very helpfull knowing that i am not alone. having this surgery was a hard decision for me because my boy wanted a sibling so badly and didnt under stand the pain i was going threw. he was very upset when he found out what kind of surgery i was having. he is very high functioning he has some emotioal issues and some learning issues you dont know that there is an issue unless you are his parent or his teacher. he has some sensory issues also. and making friends is difficult for him. i think that is why he wanted a sibling so badly. well every one take care kelly. Good Morning Ladies!! I am proud to say I am on my third day with out any pain meds for headaches!!! That seems like a bigger achievement then the surgery itself. I got light headed the day before yesterday when I bend over on the floor and pulled my dogs ball out from under the bed. Did NOT like that feeling at all!!! Really scared me!! But as the day went and I felt a little off all day but no headache! I am wondering if the off was cause I wasn't feeling the pain meds?

Anyway, I am excited I am going to the doctors today. Although we will be leaving an hour early for a 30 minute drive due to the grounds having some snow and water on them.

I may be driving myself to the doctor if my daughter doesn't get herself moving though!

Nenna I am glad to read that you had a day without headaches too. They really wear drag us down don't they?
