how long until you return to work?

I just went back to work today. I am 4 weeks post-op and I have a desk job. I could tell I had been on my feet too much by 11:00 am. I ended up leaving at 1:00 pm. I am going to leave at 1:00 the rest of the week. I may stay all day on Friday since I know I can rest over the weekend! I get paid hourly, so every minute counts!

ETA: I did go back to the doctor this past Friday and she said I was healing great and said I could go back to work but to take it easy and not over do it.

I was told that there would be lots of healing in the last 2 weeks. I found that to be correct, for me. I felt so much better at week 6 vs week 4. Patience to heal is so important. Good luck.

how long until you return to work?

My doctor said whatever felt comfortable for me. I work at home doing internet research (I get paid to surf the net ... ), and can sit inthe recliner with the laptop. I returned to work today, 8 days post-op. Even though it's very light duty work - I can definitely feel it. My supervisors know what's going on, so it is no problem for me to take a day off when I need it.

I definitely would not recommend it, and since your doctor has already said no, I'd go with what he said. Your employer has done without you for this long, they can do without you for the two days early they want you to come in. JMHO

how long until you return to work?

Hi! I had a TAH/BSO + appendectomy on 26 Nov 07 and returned to work on 21 Dec 07. I'm one of the lucky ones; I am healing very quick, and I walk a lot ! I am in inside sales, and work with all men (including my husband), but they are all very considerate. My husband did the driving at first, but now we share.
I still get a little tired at the end of the day, but am doing wonderful! I'm healing a lot faster than I ever thought possible, and no more pain!
Everyone heals at a different rate, just be really careful and do NOT overdo it.
