What to expect at 2-week checkup?

Hi ladies,
can someone tell me what will happen at my two-week post-op checkup tomorrow? Will the doc have to look in there?
I'm freaking out about that because there's still discharge, and speaking of that can any of you tell me if it's supposed to...um....smell like it does? It's not bad, just different. (I cannot believe I am writing this) But if you can't talk to your sisters, who can you talk to?
How long is that going to last, the discharge? And, will doc be able to tell if I've been doing too much?

What to expect at 2-week checkup?

My first check up is this Friday. I do remeber however that the hospital told me that if my dicharge has a strong odor to call because it could be a sign of infection. Glad your check up is tomorrow. Take care!

What to expect at 2-week checkup?

When I went in for my 2 week check I had just started with a "funny" discharge. My dr gently put a speculum in and looked to see what was going on up there. Turns out, it was a normal thing and if went away after about week 3 or 3 1/2. The exam did not hurt, so don't worry. She also checked my incision and gave me the go ahead to remove the steristrips in the shower.
Good luck tomorrow......the dr is there to help!

What to expect at 2-week checkup?

My doc told me at my 2 week checkup that if I would probably start having a discharge from the incisions dissolving, and that it could have an odor. Actually I'm at the 5 1/2 week now and never did have a discharge or have seen stitches when I urinated.

What to expect at 2-week checkup?

I was surprised when I showed up at my 2 week that my doc wanted an actual pelvic exam. She was super gentle! It was not a big deal-really! I had also just began having a discharge-which I did not have until week 1.5 or so-and then I was glad that she did "peek" because some of my internal stitches had partially dissolved and were just "sitting there". They had not "passed". I surely would have had an infection and slowed down my healing if she had not grabbed and tossed them. It was my first outing. My mom took me and my girlfriend picked me up and treated me to lunch. I went home and napped knowing I was healing fine-and because my outing wore me out!! It was good for them to check temp, bp and for me to ask questions about meds. I think now after this that I can talk to just about anyone about just about anything-especially here!!
Blessings to you as you heal. You will feel better than ever!!

Grabbed and tossed them? Eek! I have been worrying about infection for the last couple days, so it's a good thing I have an appt. tomorrow. I will allow gentle examination.

What to expect at 2-week checkup?

hahaha! They were already detached from where they were placed originally but had just found a little fold or something to rest in instead of fully dissolving or coming out. I felt nothing. She gently picked them up from their resting place and disposed of them (that sounds better, right??!!). She suggested that was likely my discharge issue since I had not had it initially. You will do great and will feel so great hearing that you are healing well!!

What to expect at 2-week checkup?

the dr. only checked my incision on my two week checkup. I told him I was still spotting and he said that was normal and may continue for another 3 weeks or so. He instructed me to come back for final exam in 4 weeks. I pray that everyone is healing well
