COLD Chills Sisters THANk God I found you!

My family thinks I am nuts due to the cold chills that started in hospital - surgery was Dec 19th. It is cold outside but the house is warm - so says everyone else - multi layer clothes - nose is cold - feet are freezing - can't take it. Use mattress warmer at night have had a few night sweats - but could get those before surgery. Hopefully these cold chills will stop? DH says it is due to my inactivity - but I dont think so - even if I get up and move around it doesnt help. Going out in the cold makes muscles contract and makes me HURT.

I am not on any hormones and don't see DR until Jan 17th - 4 weeks post op. Dont think cold chills is enough reason to call in to office but it is frustrating!

Hopefully someone has some success with this to share?

anyone having cold flashes?

Hi Ladies, I too have those lovely cold flashes, tho the hot ones have gotten slightly better! Blood work doesn't show any problem with the thyroid, so I'm learning to deal-I have throw blankets everywhere and can usually be found with at least one on me at any given time! I sleep with flannel sheets and sometimes wake up with night sweats, but I can deal with them for now. Hope to not take hormones if at all possible-we'll have to see!

anyone having cold flashes?

I too am finding that I am cold all the time! We are talking cold to the bone! It is very hard to get warm all day. I think the only time I get warm is when I am sleeping. I thought I was crazy! I kept taking my temp. thinking for sure I would have one! I still have my ovaries so I dont know. I see my Dr. on Monday and I will definetly be asking.

anyone having cold flashes?

I am having cold flashes too! I asked my doctor what caused hot flashes and he said the hypothalumus in my brain is regulated by hormones and so it is getting the wrong signal. Maybe this is the cause of our cold flashes too!

anyone having cold flashes?

I have done a huge amount of reading on the Hypothalamus Gland for a few months now. Effects of the Gland is reduced with to age, and there is no known"real" treatment to make it function better. Here is some info I found. A lot of these are things I struggle with!

The general functions of the hypothalamus are of extreme importance for the body, such as: pituitary gland regulation, blood pressure regulation, hunger and salt cravings feeding reflexes, thirst, body temperature regulation, hydration heart rate, bladder function, water reservation hormonal/neurotransmitter, regulation ovarian function and mood & behavioral functions, wakefulness, metabolism sleep cycles, energy levels

anyone having cold flashes?

Same stuff here. Not too many hot flashes, but boy am I freezing all the time. I'm freezing in bed, but will wake up drenched-go figure???? So, guess I have the night sweat thing going on as well. I am not on hormones as I still have one ovary. DH is good about letting me keep the heat up but w/ oil being over $3 a gal it just seems crazy!

anyone having cold flashes?

I had a LHS on the 27th and I'm having both cold and hot issues. Reminds me of the first day of my malaria in 2000. I get cold and cannot get warm to save my life. Within about an hour, I am burning up. I have hot flashes more often than the cold ones. Probably about three to one. I found a wet washclothe to my head helps the hot flashes. No help for the cold ones but I will take the cold ones over the hot ones anytime.

anyone having cold flashes?

Count me in on the cold and hot flashes.
I had TAH (kept ovaries) I don't know if my hormones/ovaries are messed up. But man, I am cold all day and then I sweat at night. I used to be the freezer (as DH would say) before surgery. I would get in bed and my DH would slooowly snuggle up to me now he says I am nice and warm. I used to love having 2-5 blankets on me now I find my self want just a sheet. Weird isn't it?
