Pain with sex...

I found that ForPlay succulent was a better gliding moisturizer than Astroglide which dried out too quick for us.

Pain with sex...

Thank you guys so much. I was just barely 30 when I had my surgery so the thought of taking HRT's or having hot flashes or any of it is a bit overwhelming. While my husband has been wonderful I know he is a little bit frustrated as am I with thinking that our sex life would be better after the surgery considering we spent almost 3 years with me having uncontrollable vaginal bleeding and very painful intercourse, and we were a bit naive in thinking that it wouldn't take so long to heal.

Yes, I think that's what bothers me the most. After years and years of it hurting, I was really hopeful that it wouldn't be painful again after the surgery. It isn't painful in the same way, now the pain is in another area, but it hurts nonetheless and I'm disappointed. I keep thinking it will get better the next time but it seems to only get worse.
I kept both ovaries and I'm not on HRT. I don't think the problem is dryness. I used the AstroGlide.

Yes. I'm just not sure how long to wait. It's only been about 3 weeks since I was cleared, so I don't want to panic too soon. We've tried about 6 times, and I feel like it gets slightly more painful each time and the pain lasts days longer. Every time we try, I change my mind about how long I want to wait before making that dreaded call to the doctor. First I said I would wait another month, then I decided I'd wait 3 weeks, now I'm thinking maybe I'll wait 2 weeks (figuring it will take 1-2 weeks to get in for an appointment).

I wonder how long to wait also. Does anyone know how long?

Pain with sex...

I was told 6 weeks with nothing inside vagina. I was cleared at my 6 week checkup and the Dr. said "when I'm ready". We did 2 days later with no pain, but things feel a little lumpy different in there and it was dry, even with a bit of lubrication. Maybe it needs to heal a little still. DH said he's willing to try as much as possible to help smooth things out though. LOL

my doctor said the tissues get brittle and fragile due to the dryness. I found additional lubrication didn't really help. Even tried (per my doc) daily applications of the lubricant. The pain's actually been getting worse (I'm almost two years post H).

I think I'm going to try the Estriol Creme. Does anyone know if it is comparable to what the doctor prescribes or is an RX better?
