Things I wish I knew before

I wish I had known that so much hair would fall out for awhile but then would stop.
I wish I had known that when I peed for the first wk or two that it would run down my butt and dribble on the back of my leg. Then this too would stop.
I wish I had known while was given myself a 6 wk break from my life that I would feel this good at this point. Then I would not have worried so much.
I wish I had known that yes my sex life will come back. That I would be as desirable as before. So I would not worry.
I wish I had known that my issues gone would make me so content. So I would not worry.
Because now I need extra wrinkle cream due to worries.

Relax ladies, do as the dr. says heal and feel better soon.

Things I wish I knew before

I wish I had known that it would take 6-8 weeks to get socks on without grunting.
I wish I had known that sex doesn't hurt.
I wish I had known that hairy legs are ok for 2 months.
I wish I had known to take the large bowls down from the top shelf.
I wish I had known that my friends and loved ones really care.
I wish I had known that it gets better every day.
I wish I had known (remembered) what it was like to have no undies on without worry.

Things I wish I knew before

FrozenTundra:

Though Kasey2's first entry had applicable points for me, YOURS sounded like it came from my own head (for the most part--my hubbie is still putting my socks on for me (dear, sweet man) and I haven't tried the sex post-op yet...heehee)!! Wonderful and hilarious!

I was wondering about the hair loss--apparently, I'm not alone!

Things I wish I knew before

I wish I had known how to be a more patient patient.
I wish I had known just how quickly time passes when you're resting and recovering on the couch in comfy jammies.
I wish I had known how great it would feel to sleep on my back and not need to run to the bathroom at 3 a.m. to relieve the pressure.
I wish I had known how relieved I would feel to get my path report and find no traces of pre-cancerous cells.
I wish I had known how addictive this website would be!!

Tracy (Thanks for starting this, Kasey2!!)

Things I wish I knew before

I wish I had known where my scissors were, so I didn't have to get up in the middle of the night, go to the silverware drawer, get a big knife, and cut the elastic off the top of my undies because they were too tight.

I wish I had known to convert maxi pads in giant bandages when my incision bled, rather than to hear it from a male urologist and spend all my money on gauze pads from the pharmacy.

I wish I had known to watch the Discovery Channel, and closely observe how a walrus gets up off the beach so that I would learn how to get out of bed without my belly hurting.

Things I wish I knew before

I wish I had known that my husband never had taken me for granted. It took the surgery to realize this.
I wish I had known I was more valuable than my ability to clean the house.
I Wish I had known how many real special friends I had, they are a Godsend.
I wish I had known this surgery would strength my already strong marriage.

Things I wish I knew before

I wish I would have taken the full 6 weeks off from work
I wish my husband was a better caretaker
I wish I would not have gone Christmas shopping only to leave me in pain for 2 days afterwards
I wish I would have found my doctor sooner
I wish I would have not worried about being put under
I wish I would have realized the value of resting to heal
I wish I wouldn't have shed all the tears in worrying about this surgery
