Is it just me? Pain after going back to work...

Had a TAH almost 7 weeks ago and went back to work FT on Wed. I sit down most of the day and I've been so sore I can hardly stand up straight. It feels like something's pulling. Also so sore that I'm having trouble sleeping at night and aleve isn't working (normally does). My Dr. is reluctant to give pain meds. I know if I call him he'll just tell me to wait it out it'll get better, and if I wasn't working FT I might just do that, but I'm so tired from not sleeping well and so sore. I just cry and I know he's not going to help. What should I do?

Is it just me? Pain after going back to work...

The first week I went back to work was very difficult. Call the DR and get them to give you more pain meds to help you sleep. I called mine and they gave me ones that I could break in half and only took at night after work. You can't heal if you can't sleep. I still have some pain once in a while, normally only after i do something stupid like pick up something heavy. Call the Dr! Huge Hugs for you...

Is it just me? Pain after going back to work...

I am having this exact problem!!!! I went back on Wednesday. I can't sleep and I am sooooo tired and I hurt. I want to cry! I really didn't think I would feel like this going back after almost 8 weeks! The Motrin the doctor gave me after surgery is giving me horrible diarrhea and tylenol does nothing and I can't relax my stomach. I had a TAH on November 12th. Is this going to get better? I feel stupid calling the doctor. I feel like I should be better by now.

Is it just me? Pain after going back to work...

I am worrying about this same thing when I go back to work Monday. I haven't sat upright for any length of time while recovering as I've always sat in my recliner. My job requires sitting at a desk and usually it's for 9 hours straight. I may have to do a lot of walking around the first week. I'm dreading it!

Is it just me? Pain after going back to work...

Hi all

I went back to work part time the week before Chrsitmas and only full time on Jan 2nd - I was 12 wks post op last thursday - I still hurt by the end of the day - pulling & stabbing pains - I am actually a bit sore today Sat from going out to the shops and cleaning up around the house! Some days aren't bad at all and others are very sore - I sit at a desk all day also and find as the day goes on, the more sore I am! I think we all have to go through this as it's the healing process.

I have cried many times! Including today - you sorta want to know when will it all go away -it tires you out - but know it gets better everyday!

Going back to work...ugh

Going back to work was a killer for me!! It was hard sitting, I had the stabbing pains etc. It was hard wearing clothes that fit!! still had the swelly belly goin on (now it's bulging belly) It hurt even driving home, couldnt wait to peel my pants off. I am going back to DR 1/12 (6 mo post-op) to see if I can get meds or something to help me sleep. Not on any HRT but think I might need it. (SAH, kept ovaries)

Hang in there, the pain has been getting better. I remember at 3 mo I had leg pain (groin area) on a trip I took in Oct. I felt like a big baby because I had "no" energy and was a party pooper.

Is it just me? Pain after going back to work...

My first few weeks back to work I would kick back when I got home and put either a warm or cool pack on my tummy. It really does get better.

Is it just me? Pain after going back to work...

I am doing the EXACT same thing. Today was my very first day going back to work. I am 32 yrs old, and had a LAVH on Nov 8th! I thought I would do ok, but am hurting right now, and so swollen. I wanted to cry all day today, seriously. It was very overwhelming for me. I too, feel that I should be better, and don't want to call my Dr. She was super great during my post op visit ( at 6 wks), and told me that if I didn't feel any better that I should be off work longer, but I hate to do that. My workplace would go bonkers if I had to take anymore time off. I do feel that this is part of the healing process, and will hopefully get better.
I have to admit, I was not expecting to feel this way today.
I have had a hard time sleeping , and know that my hormones are crazy.
I am ready to get past this point. I do not feel like myself at all.

Is it just me? Pain after going back to work...

I feel like I am reading about myself. I returned to work Pt on Dec 6th. I was tired the first few days. Then the soreness kicked in. I worked for two weeks then we were closed for Christmas. I rested that whole time. I started back to work FT on Jan 2 and the pain has not stopped. People keep telling me to call my dr but I feel like I should be better by now. The swelly belly is still there. I take my swelly belly belt to work with me. I am on the go all day at work, because I am a preschool teacher. I cry alot but I keep telling myself that one day I will be better!
