I'm sorry you're experiencing these problems ~ I know just how wearing it can be.

A hysterectomy is major surgery and so it's not unusual to feel extremely tired so early post-op. You'll find that many ladies also complain of headaches, which can be due to a number of different things, such as medication, anesthesia, hormones ...

I hope someone will be along soon to share but, in the meantime, don't forget to rest as much as possible, drink plenty and walk a little!

Take good care of yourself.

Extreme fatigue and headaches ~ anyone else?

Tissymoe, I had my surgery on the 26th and experienced the same thing. My headaches are getting a little better, but I'll have one day of feeling pretty good and then the next day, I'm exhausted and hurting everywhere. I think some of it is the hormone fluctuation and some of it is just that major surgery takes a huge toll on the body. Be kind to yourself! We'll just take it one day at a time. Sending you gentle hugs!

Extreme fatigue and headaches ~ anyone else?

I had the unfortunate juxtaposition of 2 major fronts moving through my area right after my surgery, That ALWAYS gives me a major sinus headache. I also found that I had a bit of caffeine withdrawal headache (which was quickly remedied! ). Headaches can also come from stressed shoulder/neck muscles (sleeping in the recliner does have drawbacks) or dehydration.

Hope this gives you some other possible sources to fix the pain!

My big question was how I could be on percocet and have my head hurt so badly?

I was TIRED!!!! the first several weeks - got a bit better in week 3.

Also - I had a slight headache day 2 at the hospital - so the nurse made sure I got LOTS to drink (water, but I asked for diet something, and got ginger ale too! What a suck! ) It was from the morphine and other painkillers.

As the other sisters have said, it is MAJOR surgery - and your body and its systems are going "WTHECK???" and taking every ounce of energy possible to heal and readjust.

Increase your water intake to flush out the extra med leftovers...I made my goal 'pale pee'.

I know it's hard to rest when you are fatigued AND bored...it was during this time (at my mom's) that I learned to actually READ THROUGH a news magazine! And found I liked it.

HUGS and I hope you feel better soon!
