Will I be ready for DH to go back to work? ( Children Mentioned)

I just had a total hysterectomy Jan. 2, 2008, (took my uterus & my cervix, but left my ovaries). While in the hospital my bp dropped extremely low & of course me being a cardiac RN it scared me even more! That of course bought me an extra day in the hospital. I have three children & am worried that I won't be able to take care of them. Their ages are, 13 yr, 3 yr & 17 months old. The younger two do not understand at all why mommy can't hold them or pick them up. The oldest has been absolutely wonderful! I just do not want her to feel like she has to do everything while my husband is at work. I am trying not to take anything other that my rx for ibuprofen 600 mg , & keflex along with a stool softener. I still haven't been passing any gas yet & do not know what to do. My head also still feels funny & still have alot of "pressure" in my pelvis & lower back. I have also been experiencing some pain in my left side both anterior & posterior & some occasional chest discomfort. My doctor told me that he thought that he was going to have some problems with my surgery. Stated that from my emergency c-section 7-06,I had developed scar tissue that had made my bladder & uterus "grow" together. He stated that he had to "tease" my bladder away from my uterus, before he could do anything & stated that was why I was having all the pelvic pressure post-op.

Any suggestions????????????????????????????

I also had anemia due to losing so much blood during my periods, the last straw for me was my last period that started Nov 1, 2007 and lasted until 4 days before my TVH on 1/3/83. I am in pain and swelled up right now but the end result has to be better then what we were all dealing with before.

I think it is great that your husband was home with you for 3 weeks to help with the kids. Do you have any other family around to help out?

I would check into having your friend watch the twins for a few weeks at her house if at all possible.

Good luck!!
