OW!!! I thought the first time wouldn't hurt!!!

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one in this boat! I am a newly wed and had my surgery on Oct. 19, 2007. My husband is frustrated, I can tell, so my sister -in-law sent me Cosmo. for a birthday present this year! What a great girft, a magazine to tell me that I have trouble in bed-I already know this! My emotions are a little on edge right now and all I want to do is hide in my yoga studio-is this normal? Sex hurts and the usually happy go lucky kid I am is an emotional mess! UGGG!

I got to where it was a project almost....just wanted to do it until it got better. Don't know if that will work for all of you. Mine wasn't a lubrication problem either. More like a size problem. And not really tightness, that I could deal with. More a depth problem. But it's all in the angle at this point. It still hurts right at penetration, but once he's in, it eases up. Best wishes to you all! It WILL get better! Keep "practicing"!

It's interesting that you would say that because that's exactly the way I feel, like this is a project and practice is going to make this perfect. The sad thing is, each time it gets worse, not better for me.

I have both ovaries, so it isn't that. It isn't a lubrication problem that I can tell. It is simply a spot in the vaginal cuff (??) that is so sore, I can't stand it. It hurts for days afterwards too. I can also feel it sometimes after a lot of walking too, so I guess it isn't strictly a problem with relations. It's like tiny stinging needles are in there constantly poking me. OUCH!

I'm too embarrassed to call the doctor . I also don't want to admit yet that there is a problem.

Thougth I'd update everyone on what I've been doing about the pain issue. I bought "replens" at the store. It's like a daily moistureizer for the vagina and not just a lubricant. So I'm going to start with that today. I've noticed I'm feeling very dry and almost burning down there all the time now. Cannot live like this! I didn't go thru all of this to have a sex life again after 2 years of pain only to have it painful again!
And I called my doctor. He hasn't called me back yet and I'm sure he's tired of me bugging him....but I want to discuss options. I can live with the hot flashes, mood swings, and all that, but I CANNOT live with this dryness so I'm going to do something about it! Take it one day at a time and practice, practice, practice!

Mich - call your doctor and get things checked out. This sounds exactly like what I experienced after I had a vaginal hematoma removed (seven years ago, but I remember that pain like it was yesterday!) Turned out it was granuloma tissue growing around the healed incision. My doc burned it off with silver nitrate (a painless office procedure) and in less than a week I was good as new.

I hope it's something that simple for you, too! Let us know how things go.
