I'm a smoker :-(

But the good news is that I made it thru my 3 days in the hospital without a patch or anything. Didn't really even think about it. I took a couple of drags last night after getting home and it just made me feel worse and really dizzy, so I haven't tried again. Seems like this might be the perfect opportunity to quit. I'm going to ask for a prescription for Chantrix when I go in to have the staples removed on Monday.

I really don't want to say this out loud, but I feel really good. I've been doing everything by the book and keeping up with the meds. Not much gas pain since day 2 and bowls are working just fine. My only problem is that I can't really sleep more than an hour or so at a time. But that's fine I guess, since I'm just laying around all day anyway. And it's much easier getting in and out of bed then I thought it would be. I'm knocking on wood that things will stay this way!

I feel your pain SPYROFAN but THANK GOD for my mother!! I had my surgery on Jan 7th and was released to go home on the 9th. Minimal pain, last time I took pain pills was on Friday the 11th. Very glad to have this behind me, I had scar tissue, fibroids and my uterus were attached to my abdomen. I'm taking it easy and following my dr.'s orders . It's a shame the main person that should be your support ends up being so trifling. Good luck and continued recovery.

After two nights of good sleep, last night was a no-go. I ended up getting out of bed and sitting in the recliner playing video games from 4 - 5:30. I was able to sleep after that, though; and got up around 9:30ish.

I've been able to go without Percocet all day, but I am using Aleve. It seems to be working well, although not perfectly. But then - the Percocet didn't work perfectly, either. I'm still debating whether or not to take one tonight before bed.

My mom and dad passed on 12 years ago (40 days apart) when I was 34 from different cancers from smoking, so I do not know what they would have died from naturally. Grieving is never "done", but it just changes over time. Its my hunch that since you have much time on your hands right now, that your thoughts turn to your mum. Its OK. and the tears are very normal surgery or not. Write her a letter and tell her all the things that you would be telling her right now. You will feel much better getting all those thoughts "out of you".

Also ladies - get some GAS-X or a generic equivalent. This is mostly what I have pain from now, gas and bloating. No constipation, but after eating, everything has to move along the "pipes", and it hurts. the gas-x made me feel MUCH better.

TAH BSO January 8th.
I have been taking maximum strength gasx regularly but the gas and bloating has been unbearable today. I have taken my max of three today but ouch, I still hurt. Don't know what's up...

Almost a week!

I've been bored today too....I may break down and try out the Xbox 360 I got the boys for Christmas!

I am also looking at all of my suits for work wondering how I will manage them.....I don't have the abdominal incision but I definitely have some swelling.....possibly from doing too much. It's ok in the morning but by 5:30 in the afternoon it is pretty funny to look at.

I have a little pain tonight, but I was up sitting at a computer working for a few hours today so I am sure that is the culprit.

Glad to see we are on the mend!
