Worried about tiredness and stitches at 5 weeks post-op

I had stiff stitches still at 5 weeks. I told DH that the Dr. put spikes in there to make sure NOTHING went in for 6 weeks.

They got softer over the following week, and one came out the day before my 6.5 week checkup. The Dr. saw a few other stitches attached at my checkup, but they had softened and brushed aside during the exam. She said it was normal!

Worried about tiredness and stitches at 5 weeks post-op

Well, I'm 10 weeks out, and I still feel like I have less energy than I did before my surgery. (I also have a lot less pain! Yeah!) So I would say you sound pretty normal to me.

You'll find a pretty wide range of recovery here on the site. For the week I was in, one person went back to work at 2 weeks. I never could have done that. I did notice around week 9 that I no longer needed the ibuprofen and heating pad in the evenings. Just happened very gradually.

Hang in there :-)
