Incision & exercise advice wanted from my "fluffy" sisters

I found that the best thing for my incision, which is also where the sun does not shine, was using Hydrogen Peroxide a couple of times a day. It really helped my incision heal nicely.

I too wear "support panties " and for me, they help a bit. My belly is not "hanging freely" so is not pulling to much or bouncing either.

Also, shhhh.... i took all my steri-strips off. I just hated them and I feel better. I am getting the ithcies every now and then. DH is getting antsy..if you know what I mean.. any advice?

Im not sure if this is "safe" so to say. Mine was pretty closed tight after surgery.
But after a shower I'd pat it dry VERY gently. And thru out the day I would use a baby wipe to keep it clean {and odor free} lol. Say 1-3 times a day. Just depending on how much I was sweating.

I use to always use baby powder or underarm deodorant before, So I Knew I had to put something there or keep it clean/fresh some how after surgery discharge lol.

Im about 3 1/2 months post op, and never had any problems after that.

I think I "pulled" something.
My belly itches and hurts after it was almost pain free. I have my post op app this coming Thursday, please say a prayer for me.

Incision & exercise advice wanted from my "fluffy" sisters

Hello All
I too am a fluffy sister - about 100lbs over weight - I am also surgical Nurse Practitioner and although this time I had a laproscopic surgery I had a 10inch vertical incision following a car accident 10 years ago and have the following tips to helping your incision heal: to your surgeon if this opening is draining, red, or changing in length or width
2 if your doc agrees...cleanse gently twice a day with sterile saline solution (you can get it at most drug stores) peroxide can actually damage healthy tissue...dry well and cover with a dry sterile gauze..the polysporin is a good idea as long as your surgeon agrees
3 Try a "belly binder" not sure if you can get them at a drugstore but your doc may be able to get you one - it adds support to fluffy bellies!!
4 good nutrition and hydration as always and follow your surgeons instructions to the letter!!
Happy healing!!

Incision & exercise advice wanted from my "fluffy" sisters

I was TERRIFIED that mine would get infected. I am a little overweight but do have a pretty big shelf. I don't know why but I do. I would make my husband check it a few times a day, I was constantly looking at in the mirror, drying it off..what ever I could to keep it dry. My sister had a severe infection from a c-section, so it made my fear/obsession even worse...
I do have a funny story about the "shelf"..when I was in my morphine enduced crazy state..I went on and on to my sister about the "pouchy pouch" that I have. About how my mom had it, my other sisters have it..everyone has it's a little joke that they have over me. I had no recollection of this conversation but it's now known in our family as the pouchy pouch

I am 2 1/2 weeks post-op. I also had a verticle incision with 34 staples. I am also fluffy. My incision is all but healed up. I did have just a couple places that oozed. I kept it dry by blow drying the area after my showers and I used panty liners or pads on the front inside part of my panties to absorb any oozing etc. Since I would no longer be using them for periods, this was a perfect way of using them. It worked like a charm and it kept my panties from getting stained from the oozing.

Incision & exercise advice wanted from my "fluffy" sisters

Just wanted to say hello! How is everyone doing?
I am doing better, TG! But last week was not good. I got something similar to an UTI (the symptoms were there but the urine test said no) ALL WEEK ...yikes....ouch ... ouch! I even got an ache on my lower belly but due to an ice/snow storm could not make it to the Gyne. "It" went away suddenly, just the way "it" came.

My incision site is great, no problems whatsoever. I am still drying it with the hairblower after showers.

I still get tense during S*X, I am sooo afraid of doing something to my vaginal cuff.

Anyway, have a great week!

p.s. today is my *43*
