Happy Happy, Joy Joy!!!

Here I am 9 weeks and 1 day post op and......

I went for a run today!!! And my guts didn't feel like they were falling out and they didn't hurt!!

OK so really I walked for 2 miles and I ran for about a 1/2 a mile but still!!!! MY life is back!! Running is the thing that sets my head straight and calms my emotions and feeds my SOUL!!!!!

For those ladies just post op or those having complications - I did too and I wanted to post this so that you KNOW this too shall pass and soon your life will be back. I always read on here that everyone heals in their own time and I agree with that. I do remember though feeling so discouraged (home with the cath, post op vaginal cuff cellulitis) like this day would never come. So ladies - hang in there!! Your prize will come

On my knees with gratitude....

Happy Happy, Joy Joy!!!

That's great! I know it was a good feeling.

I'm waiting...my day is coming soon! I'm at 3 weeks... but I can see some improvements each day. Today is a good day...and I can actually fit into my jeans! Put them on today for the first time. so tired of my pajama pants. They were cute at first (snowflakes/penguins...) but I want to stuff them away in a drawer for a long time...and feel human again. ha! I know, I'll probably be in them all day tomorrow too...but I feel alive today.

Thanks ladies!! I know what you mean feeling alive - such an awesome feeling.

This week has just been extra good. FINALLY there is no more discharge and I was able to go back to wearing my thong underwear - LOL!!! (which I never got to wear as much as I like due to my pre hyster problem) I know TMI!! It's the small things in life that keep a girl happy

starbgirl- im still just getting back to me. but i know exactly what you mean - i have been walking again only 1.5 miles everyother day or so. But it makes me feel so normal again.
Glad you posted. I thought i was nuts feeling so emotional about it- coming this far. Now I cant wait til i can jog a little again too. (had to give it up because the fibroid was sitting on a nerve in my back)

Yea fit & ready!! I'm glad you feeling so well!! You will run again soon. I haven't run since mid October due to first a calf injury (running) and then my surgery. I'm trying hard now to keep the brakes on a start slowly so there are so further injuries.

I love feeling normal - even beter than normal because all of this is behind us!!

Yup, been there done that with the injury part. I pulled tendons in both my ankles a year before surgery- ran with wrong shoes. I ended up in therapy and had braces on both ankles for 2 months. In some ways that was worse than this recovery.

Its amazing how we can bounce back if we allow ourselves heal... slow and steady wins the race...

Thanks for posting. I'm 4 weeks out and I've worked back up to my pre-surgery walk time of an hour a day. I'm covering less distance but I'm adding more every day. It feels great to be out and moving again.

mochapep, so your going by time not distance? hmm i was thinking the other way around... maybe ill have to increase my time and not worry about how far.
