night sweats

I went to the doctor for 6 week check up on Friday Jan. 25th. He said all was fine and everything healing nicely. I asked a bunch of questions some of which I got from the 5-6 week checkpoint on here and some of my own. I told him I wanted hormone level, thyroid level checked and he did it. He called me back on Monday and said everything was fine except the FSH came back at 0 unmeasurable. I asked him what this meant and he said just that you are in menopause and just had a hysterectomy. (MEN!) I told him that I was very aware of that fact but what should I do. He upped my dosage of the Vivelle Dot patch and told me to let him know how it works. I had him check all this because I have been so cold and if I do have a hot flash I actually enjoy it. I haven't found any info about what it means when hormone level is 0 and what to do if it does. I am on the second patch and not sure that it is working out. Not much difference. I am thinking about calling the doctor back and asking him if pills might work better. Have any of you had these problems. I am still having night sweats and hot flashes but they are bothering me more and more.
Sorry so long just wanted to see if any of you have heard of this before?

night sweats

I'm 9wks post op (TAH/kept ovaries) and I'm having night sweats off and on too. It was really bad the first 2 weeks after surgery, I had them every night to some degree. Now I have them every few nights. I awake soaking wet on my back. It's amazing how my front is cold and my back is so hot and wet. I've never had a hot flash though.

could you try this?

I have been on bio-identical progesterone for 5 years, which I am continuing to take....had my total hysterectomy last Wed and have had no hot flashes or weird feelings whatsoever! I really think this should be used by more doctors as a healthier way to get our bodies back to normal after surgery. I think synthetic hormones will just cause us more health problems in the future.

I want to avoid estrogen at all cost, so my endo does not grow back. It is hard to find a doctor who will prescribe bio-identicals, but I swear by them - I feel great and have lots of energy, nine days post-op. Please consider trying to find a doctor who can give you this option, ok? I take 150mg/day bio-identical progesterone capsule. You can type in "Compounding Pharmacy" and the city and state you live in, and that will give you some numbers to call to pharmacies that can help you find a doctor. Hope this helps!
