We had surgery on the same day. I'm not sore anymore. My incisions are all just about healed. The bruises are almost gone. But I am soo tired still. I sleep about 8 hours at night and another 2-3 hours during the day. I'm able to do stuff around the house...wash dishes, get laundry going..that sort of stuff. I let my boys carry all the heavy stuff and help out in that respect. It feels good to not be in pain anymore and to be walking and getting around good. I'm still not hungry most days.

Hello Ladies,

I was doing well but today my incision area was really heavy and hurting. It's still swollen. I'm 2 weeks from my post op. I still have very little appetite and eating small stuff. I'm not as tired and sometimes when I go to bed at night, I wake up after about 3 hrs, wide awake. Don't nap much during the day. I'm getting up by myself - no longer need help. Doing household chores, slowly, too. Not driving much. Getting tired of looking at the same thing everyday.. gets depressing. Wishing you all a healthy recovery. Denise

2 weeks post- op and I am just sore every once in a while. I am doing dishes and cooking a little. I think I may be able to drive by the end of the week. DR says only when I can stomp on the break w/o pain. We'll see.
I am awake right now.... seems like once I hit the pillow I sleep and do not want to get up. I have to wake up to make certain the kids get off to school. After that- GMA, Regis and Kelly, and the view have become my friends. LOL

Not sure I will want to go back to work in 4 weeks....... Kinda wish I could always stay home and be paid for it

Almost three weeks since operation.

I am so so so tired!!! Just too tired to even think of getting up, getting ready and going for a coffee. I drove for the first time on Saturday and I was so excited but I must have overdone it because I m so so exhausted and my appetite is going. Its nice to read that I am not alone in this.

Take care Sisters.

Well I am up and cannot sleep. I was wondering is anyone else experiencing the sleeping habit of not being able to sleep at night? I have tried tea, pills and nothing seem to allow me to have a good night rest..Any suggestions. I am into my 3rd week of post-op and still swollen but not as sore. I can walk better and do little things such as dishes, laundry and even drive short distance. My DR said my blood count is low and I am low iron which is making me extra tired. My family really thinks that I am back to normal-which I explained dozen of times that I am not..Anyway maybe I will get at least couple hrs of sleep before the early morning. Take Care Sisters..

Well for me it seems I'm good in the morning and think i'm finally getting better and then by the end of the day...everything is swollen feeling and hurting. Maybe I do too much idk. I was told a small portion of my lung was still not inflated after surgery and i thought it was going away but now today it feels a little bit tough to take a deep breath again. I may have to call my doctor tomorrow. Has anyone had this happen to their lungs? I don't know if i should be worried or not. I was told it is fairly common but I also did some research and it seems that it should have been better by now. ???? Well hope everyone is doing well. My family is starting to think i can do most things now too because i have been doing more (dishes, taking care of the dogs, etc.) I think I need to take it a bit easier. Just not a lay around on the couch type person.

Well no I haven't had any breathing problems just swelling in the belly area and soreness. I guess you understand about the family think we are back in shape when we get home-they are crazy..We must take it easy and let the process heal.

I know the feeling. Me too. I do get bored during the day. Sometimes it's depressing being in the same atmosphere. I'm going to work on organizing all of my paperwork today because before you know it, we'll be back to work and wish would we have done some stuff. Denise

Hello Everyone-
I just have quick question- i seem to forget in the mornings that i cannot stretch like i want- and when i remember- its already to late- i like to push my feet out- therefore i stretch my tummy muscles- and man!! do i pay for that!!!!!!!
is anyone else doing this as well?? or is it just me?
after doing the stretch- i feel it like i said in the tummy area and am usually sore for the rest of the day- but if i don't i feel like my legs are cramped.
