2 week post op

I feel pretty good!! I went to the hospital for my DH's appointment and while I was requesting my records..my surgeon walked by and said hello, how was I doing etc. Well, I told him my visit was tomorrow and he told me he could fit me in today if I wanted. Which was great because parking is such a hassle at the hospital here.

So after my Dh's appointment, I had my post op. I am healing well. No bleeding, I do have some discharge but nothing heavy enough to warrant wearing a pad if that makes sense. I did call the nurse to ask for a UTI test (I have always had problems not emptying and wanted to make sure I did not have an infection) so that was already ordered so tomorrow when I went in, I could already have the results. He did call me after (The results were not in yet) and say, that yes there is a trace of infection so he called me in a presciption. I am kinda glad because hopefully that is the reason of some of the problems I have trying to go. I also asked for the yeast infection pill since last time I had a UTI and on antibiotics I got a yeast infection (I don't want to mess with that 3 or 7 day cream when 1 pill will work) He said no problem. I just love my surgeon. As much as a military hospital scares me, I feel so comfortable and at ease with him. I could not be happier. I picked up thank you cards for both my surgeons and will mail them this week. I want to thank them for being so considerate of my craziness LOL.

I told him also, I could not get over how my back did not hurt anymore.
I have been pretty constipated though, so he gave me a script of a laxative (It's a powder kind that you mix with water. Hopefully it will not make be as nauseas as the bowel prep) I am scared to push too hard to BM with all the "Work" I had done. He agreed LOL.

I hope everyone is doing well. I still have incision pain but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I still take the motrin. I think I overdid it by going to the movies than the mall the next day but I was getting cabin fever WAYYY too bad. I am also taking my son to basketball practice since I can drive. I am still not lifting the baby (Although I had to 2x) I am avoiding any lifting at all costs. I have been bad though...I have taken baths almost every night. I'm a bath *****. I love to read and relax and basically unwind in the tub. Hasn't hurt me yet thank god.

Everyone who is waiting, you will hear it a million times but that is the hardest part. You will feel soo much better!

Great to hear how well you are doing!! I am 5 months post-op and feel better than I have in a few years!

I am worried about your taking baths though. I had to wait 6 weeks before I could resume being a "bath *****!" (I like that name - very fitting! ) Does your doc know that you have taken a dip in the tub? Make sure he/she knows. My doc said that bath water can cause an infection in the vagina while you are still healing. How was your surgery performed (abdominal, vaginal)? Either way, just to be safe, please check with the doc to make sure!

Happy recovering!!

I had an abdominal sacrocolopexy (I think I spelled that right) A & P Repairs, removed the uterus, cervix & tightening up the gaping vagina (Yes, they told me it was gaping LOL, talk about mortification. I didn't think it was that bad!!!)
