Dizziness One Week Post Op

Had laparoscopic hysterectomy last Monday, 1/7/08, and still feeling light headed and like head is being squeezed by a rubber band. Just called doctor and was told it wasn't surgery related. I don't buy it. Anyone here have this and what was it caused by? Hormones? Anesthesia? Gas still in system? Please help!!

Dizziness One Week Post Op

I have had some dizziness but nothing for any extended period of time. Sometimes if I'm up too long or get up too suddenly I feel a sudden dizzy sensation. I don't know what might be causing it or if others have experienced it.

I hope you get past it soon!

I Too Had My Hysterectomy On January 7th, 2008. Since Then I Too Have Had Dizziness, But I Suspect That Itsfrom The Narcotic Pain Meds. I Was Rushed Back To E.r. Yesterday Becauseof Severe Ab Pain W/fever. They Took Blood, Ultrasound, Urine(which Killed Me Cause' It Was By Catherazation). No Abnormalities Found Thank God! Ab Pain Is Still There Most Of It Is Not Being Able To Pass The Left Over Gas In Belly Or Have A Good Bowel Movement. Also, Since The Took The Urine Sample Last Nite, I've Been Bleeding More. I Brought This To The E.r. Doc's Attention, She Assured Me That I Was O'k. I Have Another Follow-up W/gyn On Thursday. Can't Understand Why I'm Still Bleeding. Any Ideas? Good Luck.

Dizziness One Week Post Op

I actually faited for the first time in my life 3 weeks post-op, and did the same dizzy thing when I'd stand up after resting until just this week. Someone told me it could be the hormones balancing, and if you're on HRT, that can add to your body's confusion a bit. Estrogen drops can do strange things to you, I used to have severe migraines with my cycle because of the drop, and I know what you mean by the rubber band feeling, I get that, and I think oh no, but I'm hoping it's just my body adjusting - I think I'll use that excuse the rest of my life!

Hope you feel better soon!

Have you been eating regularly? I had some dizziness at about one week. A friend noted that my appetite was not up to par. She went out and bought me Carnation Instant Breakfast and a couple 1/2 gallons of milk and that helped. I think the Carnation also helped healing with the protein in it. Actually, I still drink a couple servings per day because I am still not eating enough. I can't wait for a stomach to wake up! Besides Cheerios, it is the only thing that does not cause a stomach ache.

good appetite

Yes, I've been eating & drinking just fine. I seem to need to be near death to ruin my appetite! Hopefully each day will be better. I go see the dr on Thursday, was ticked off at the way they blew me off on the phone today. I'm thinking I probably need to get on some progesterone, am very leery of any estrogen because endo is what lead to my problems and I don't want a return of that pain!
