Ovarian problems after hysto

Is it possible to have ovarain cancer several months after having your uterus and cervix removed? I called my ob this morning because it has been 7 months and the last two months I have been extremely tired with right ovary pain.. and now spotting randomly. Can this happen? I am scheduled for many test tomorrow and I am nervous.

Ovarian problems after hysto

I know what you are going through, I went through it a year after my LAVH. I ended up having a mass on my left ovary. Doc tested for ovarian cancer but it turned out to just be a mass causing my problems. I too was spotting and had pain. I had the mass removed and everything is fine. Got to keep both ovaries still and they are in good working order.
Hang in there.

One question..

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. If you do not mind, how did they remove the mass? Did they go through your belly button?
My ovaries are not working right.. sleeping ovaries I guess. I was hoping by seven months post op that my ovaries would work.. not yet. In fact the hot flashes have been severe.. getting worse daily. Well I guess I have more questions, did you have to have an ultrasound or blood work?
Thanks for any answers you can share with me!

They removed my mass vaginally. So yes, they went through the belly button. And yes, I did have blood work to determine if it was cancer. The doc says my ovaries are working fine but I have also had my share of hot flashes. Hope for the best and I will be thinking of you. If a man ever told me being a woman was easy I would show him this website. Good luck.

Yankeesfan,
As long as you have your ovaries, there is a risk of cancer. That being said, most problems with the ovaries are not cancer. The odds are pretty low that problems with the ovaries are cancer. I am sure your doctor got a good look at your ovaries when he did your hysterectomy and at that time they must have looked healthy so you have that going for you.

Is your doctor suspecting cancer? If so, why? There are many tests that can be done to see about the possibility and he may have ordered those. These can also rule out the possibility of cancer too.

Have you read the posts in Ovaries Only to see if there has been anyone who has experienced what you are experiencing?

Let us know what you learn from your doctor.

Hello!

Hi ladies. I just got in. I went to see the obgyn this afternoon. He is such an amazing person-doctor.. but he was not the one who did my surgery as I have bleeding disorders and had to go else where. I had an internal doen to which he said I have scar tissue.. and they did something that caused it to burn off and then put that grandulation (sp?)... I am cramping bad and it still burns.. needless to say I am crying over here.. He is sending me for an ultrasound and blood work. I had a CT scan about three months ago and they found something suspicous but it was left alone for three months as I cancled some appiontments due to other health conditions with my children. He feels i am going through menopause and that it feels as if I have a lump on my ovary.. left side.. so I will know more once I get those out of the way. Thank you ladies for all ALL all of your continued help.
