Dying for a soak in the tub...

I also was told 6 weeks before my wonderful bath. When you have an LAVH or TVH there are stitches in your vagina that could get very infected. DR says you have up to 45 days before those stitches have completed healing.

I love my baths, I have a jacuzzi tub that I rarely use the jets on, but love how deep it is. I did go get a mani/pedi today. It was nice to soak my feet in the hot water. I took it as a mini bath

I miss batheing also. However, my Dr warned me that taking a bath could cause problems due to the use of my abdominal muscles getting into and out of the tub. To pacify my dire need for a bath, I purchased a really nice shower scrub to make the shower seem special. It is also helping my horribly dry skin. Winter in WI and the inability to soak in a tub of bath salts and oils is awful on my skin. I am hoping to be released for a tub bath after my 6 week check up next week. When I get the OK, I suspect I will read an entire novel, drink a bottle of wine and burn down many candles before I get out of the tub the first time.

Dying for a soak in the tub...

Hmmmm......this is a bit confusing to me, all your doctors telling you to wait to take a bath. My surgeon TOLD me to take lots of baths and to soak my incisions. I did not really feel comfortable soaking them, I just wanted to bathe, though.

I have only taken 3 baths since my surgery on the 23rd and they have been quick, just so I could shave my legs. He said it does not hurt to get them wet, then pat them dry. Of course, I only had incisions about _____ that long and they look like just scars now. The bath water did hurt my urethra today though. I think that stupid catheter made it sensitive or something. I had lots of pain from my catheter in the hospital, because my bag was full and urine would go back up inside me when I tried to pee! They checked me and thank goodness I did not get an infection from that. Bath water irritated it and I started having spasms again. That is my only concern.
