I love Starbucks!!!

Maybe TMI, but a thought for those of you with BM troubles.....

I had my first BM on Wednesday at the hospital after surgery on Monday morning. But since then, nothing. Been taking stool softners and have had one dose of MOM. Still nothing. And although I've been eating very little, I still had 3 days of bananas and toast in my tummy and it was becoming really painful this evening. DH suggested that he run out and get me a strong cup of Starbucks, so I thought okay, I'll give it a try. I'm not much of a coffee drinker so I hadn't really thought about it before then.

Not more than 30 minutes later, bam! Oh, I feel 100% better!

Coffee always does it for me, too, especially if it has milk in it (even better - whipped cream). Glad it worked for you, too!

I love Starbucks!!!

Ooohh... Good idea. Not having many BM problems, but I'm always up for an excuse to get some coffee! Hmmm...wonder if I can convince the hubby to go pick me up one tomorrow morning. You've got me salivating!

This may sound wierd, but the thing that always makes me go is waffles. Even more so if they have peanut butter on them. Pancakes don't do it, but waffles do. Maybe its psychological, but it works for me.

Mmmm, I know what I want tomorrow! Waffles and Starbucks!

Hot coffee, a bowl of oatmeal, and yogurt helps to get me moving within 30 minutes in the morning.
Hot coffee, tea, or cocoa starts the colon moving along. I make sure to eat foods rich in fiber and drink a good amount of fluids. It'll help you avoid constipation after your first BM (colon's usually slow after surgery due to pain meds, anasethia, and not moving around as much).
