Hot Tub????

hi dressed
Yes I was cleared for all activity at week 4, but even then I was in so much pain I couldn't believe she released me (she said I was healed and the pain would get better as I moved around more and it did).
Didn't try sex or even sleep in my own bed until week 8! I am not a bath person, more of a shower person, but I do like the hot tub, but was just worried about that kind of heat (104*) and what it would do to me.

Hot Tub????

Hi-
My doc and the hospital staff both specifically said no hot tubs till I was clearred at 6 weeks. That last week we were gone over Thanksgiving, and there was a hot tub in our condo... it was hard to stay out. But I did stick my feet in for a few minutes at a time. Best just to check with your doc though, as everyone's recovery can be a bit different.

Hot Tub????

I went in at about 12 weeks. The only problem I found was I felt the hormone patch released more hormones while I was in the hot tub. I had extreme breast and nipple tenderness. I have since switched to oral for that reason. No problems now. My dr. didn't believe it would make a difference.

Hot Tubb??

Hmmm.. I wondered the same thing myself. Saw my doc at 7 1/2 weeks and he said wait a couple more weeks because I still had some healing taking place on the vaginal cuff. I did get in at around 10 weeks... haven't noticed any problems. But.. like some of the other sisters have advised, it's always best to ask your own doc about your specific situation.

Interesting comment 'almost' about the hormone patch.. I was just worried that my would come off in the hot water.. but it makes sense that the heat would release more medication. My DH has told me to rub mine for extra friction more than once!

Hot Tub????

shoot - my doctor said ONE WEEK - but reading this - i'm scared to try it because it seems like it couldnt be a good idea! I'm so confused.

I think it will help with Swelly Belly and aches from laying around so much but i dont want to cause problems.

Hot Tub????

Okay ladies - just for your info (lol...don't try it...i dont want to hurt any of you) - I followed my doctors advice - and went in after 10 days and again after 13 days - and now its 5 days after the first time i went in - and I've had no trouble at all. I'm careful not to get too much water internally and my hubby shocked it the day before i got in to make sure it was SUPER clean.

My incision looks healed on the outside and it felt SOOOOOO good to be floating in the water. No troubles at all so far - just needed a hand getting in!

Hot Tub????

I think like some of the women said, it probably makes a difference if you had your cervix taken ... The vag. cuff would be susceptible to infection if it has not totally healed...... Again, check with your indiv. doctors so that you are comfortable with your decision.
