6 weeks, first time :(

I have no input except to say I am also scared. I just got cleared on Friday and I am too scared to act on it. My dh is being very supportive, but I feel bad. I am hoping as a few more days go by and I continue to do more I will feel like I can do it.

My doctor did say that if things did not go well and there are any concerns to call.

Good Luck....

six weeks is only an average number, you might just need more time to heal. try to rest and try again when you feel up to it..i'm sure things will improve.

Hi Sisters:

I was cleared at 4 weeks for all activities! But I waited till 8 weeks for sex. I too was scared of tearing something and pain.
At 8 weeks it did hurt! (we did not use any lubrication this time). The next couple of times (not on the same day!) it did get better each time. And now no pain at all. We use lots of KY, and I have seen others recommend something called Astroglide.

Hi Itsme

It is possible that you have some granulation on your vaginal cuff that is causing the bleeding. The pain could be from a number of different things including anxiety, or hormonal dryness. If I were you, I would just take it easy for the remainder of the weekend. When you've been resting for six weeks, your body isn't ready to jump full force back into all of your pre-op activities. It's better to ease into them and work back up to your old routine.

Why not give your doctor a call tomorrow just to report what happened. They can decide whether you should be seen, or just give you some suggestions to make things easier. I think it will give you some peace of mind. Good luck, and please keep us posted. I'm sure there are other women in the same position who would benefit from your experience.

Wow! I am glad to see others are in the same boat. I am 6 weeks. DOc says I am healed nicely on the inside but I am scared to death to try sex. I had an artery bleed 2 weeks post op and had to go back in for emergency surgery. I know that this is adding to the anxiety. My dh is scared to because he was there and saw. I don't know if we will ever have sex again. I hope I can work up my nerve. We have been married for 17 years. At this point I am even scared to try an orgasm. Will I get over this????

I know exactly what you all are going through,I too was very scared to have sex the first time. I am just about six weeks post op. The first time was painful with even just a little penetration. And I had a slight burning sensation. We used lubricant, but I think I was just to nervous and could not relax. The second try was much better, of course I had a glass of wine! But I could not believe the difference. It was exactly like it was before surg. My hubby was so great about helping me relax, and going slow. I know he was just as nervous. I hope for the best for you all!

Timely subject...at almost 7 wks the boyfriend and I tried it out last night. It was good but it was "different", which was odd. I was really scared, we used lubricant and it didn't hurt! And there was no bleeding! Those things were both really good. But...it felt different. Outside of feeling my soft stomach from the fibroids being gone, it was the first time I could really tell the uterus was gone. Sex before hurt, not in a real bad way, but there was pressure on the uterus. That was gone, so it felt different, I could really tell it had been removed. i don't think this makes sense...but... it was just strange. I thought maybe that this was how sex was suppose to feel, as opposed to how it's been the past few years (which was always good but the past few months sort of painful). He enjoyed last night. Orgasms have been fine. It's just different. Not bad, not better, just different. Needs more research!

itsme01, I'd love to hear what your doc has to say if you decide to let them know. I'm 4.5 weeks and feeling scared too (my husband is counting down the minutes!), but the advice I was given is take it slow, use lube, and give it time. If it doesn't work right the first time, try again! I'm sorry you bled, that's always scary, I'd bleed before surgery, so hoping that's changed now! Remeber, we haven't used it in a while, it's bound to tighten, and healing from surgery can cause changes too, but bigger things were meant to pass through, so it will stretch back in time!
