Lassie

I had a total radical hyst. on 1/21. No bad problems til this. I did not have fever, just very intense right side pain. No burning or other sign of infection, but I had a catheter for 10 days and the self cath for three more leading up to this. After about 8 hours of it, I could not stand it anymore. Just made me cry and rock. Dr. said go to ER because it could be appendicitis, kidney stone or bladder infection. The CT cleared appendicitis and kidney stone. Showed swollen ureters and something about the kidney. It took two days for the pain to finally go away after starting the more powerful antibiotics. I got back on my vicodin and would just suffer for the hour it took to take hold, but it did help bring relief. Doing much better now. Hope you will be better soon too. I know how much it hurts. Take care and don't be afraid to call your doctor or go to ER. If it is a bladder infection, you will need the antibiotics.

Tired, sore

HI!
I am still very tired after TAH on January 28th. I find myself wanting to take a nap in the afternoon and then going to bed at night by 10pm. I do little things around the house during the day, nothing too overwhelming though. I am hoping that my energy level will pick up soon!

No sweating that would be nice. Maybe you should come over and see me with the nice hot humid weather you'd be warm.

Did anyone else get anti-inflamatories s to take after surgery?

I just got motrin 800mg and percocet. Is motrin an anti inflammatory?

cnurse...I took 2 naps today! I get worn out pretty quickly. I haven't taken any pain meds today, but I will take one at bedtime.

Hope everyone is continuing to heal. I think my swelly belly is starting to diminish some. I have been wearing a light support panty and it seems to help that weak squishy feeling I have in my abs when I move around. I've been using icepacks and taking motrin, even though I am not having pain, I think that helps with the swelling. I have been on a couple of walks since the weather here has been pretty. I don't move very fast and it makes me tired, but I have felt pretty good since I have been moving more. I only have dermabond on my incision...I see a lot of you had staples. Some of it came off by itself and I want so bad to pick the rest of it off, but I have this irrational fear that my guts are going to fall out if I do that...silly, huh? I don't see my doctor for 2 more weeks, so hopefully, that will just come off on it's own. Anyone have any experience with the glue?

Hi Girls!
Jill, I have the dermabond, doc said I could use vaseline at any point to get it off. Like you, I'm keeping my insides on the insides...that stuff can stay on there.

I had a nice lunch with my wacko friend yesterday. Today is kind of a let-down...have just sat here being grumpy. Tomorrow I vow to walk or something.....maybe see some people.

Have a good night sisters!

Hey y'all,

Enough activity for me today. Started on my homework once I was awake and not feeling lousy. Did the weekly shopping with DH and then came home and supervised the putting away of it and then hit the bed. I was wiped out! I'm finding I have to rest around 4 every day or I will not make it.

Got myself moving and just finished one of my accounting assignments. They are a lot of fun, but time consuming. I have to do some discussion post and such between this evening and tomorrow and one more assignment for each class. Let's just say, I'm not bored. I'll be taking the laptop upstairs for the discussions.

Still taking the tylenol at least once a day if not more on some days. Everything else seems to be getting into a rhythm. Still battling the infection, but I'm sure this round will knock it out.

Y'all have a great one.

Indoprincess-humidity would be yucko. I'll take the nice dry heat of the wood-burning stove for now. If you start blowing up from it, some raspberry or lemon herbal tea helps as does fresh grapefruit juice, if available to you.

HA HA! I just have this urge to pick it off, but I'm TERRIFIED! I had surgery on my neck about a year ago - same glue and I had no issue with picking that off when it starting looking weird. Maybe because I could see it in the mirror better or maybe because everyone could see it?
I got very motivated today and bought a membership at the YMCA near my home. My doctor said I could do light exercise, which means no running or lifting more than 10 pounds. My regular gym is right by my office...I am off work until 6 Mar, and I'm afraid if someone sees me walking on the treadmill they will think I should be working. So, I will start on the indoor track tomorrow and try not to overdo it.
