OK question - mine was on the 22nd of Jan.

I'm still dripping a light brownish fluid --- not blood --- but more than you would see in your underwear amount on a non-period day.

It doesn't smell infected - and everything is starting to feel ok now...

I was in a lot of pain.

However --- I am still managing it for a couple more days --- Advil might work tomorrow or the next for me.

The brownish clear dripping is bothering me --- because I never really had a smell or lots of I dunno what to call it --- discharge ??? maybe??? --- before surgery...

But now I actually have a smell (a normal female vaginal smell - says hubby ---- but I never had one before)...

and I have a lot of discharge.

Again--- is this something that slows down a bit?

LAVH - TVT - Rectocele - anterior and posterior repair...

They found a crystalized embryo (over 10 years old) which they had thought was a dermoid cyst ---- but wasn't. My uterus had to be sectioned out in 8 pieces due to large fibroids --- and whatever andenmyosis is.

Kept healthy right ovary.

Again - the only things bothering me now is a little bit of pain - which the doc said with all the surgery I had is totally normal...

And the brownish clearish discharge....

Any ideas?

Oh --- and how long before the stitches fall out?

I don't know if you should bike. I think I am definitely going for a pedi this week, though. Good idea!!! My DD and I went to the Y today and walked for 25 minutes on the indoor track at a fairly slow pace. No problems.
I am bored, too. I have 4 more weeks of being a lady of leisure. I am taking 2 classes online so that gives me something to do. I am reading alot, which is pretty standard for me, but I have also discovered really weird reality TV shows on VH-1 and the Bravo channel. Trashy! It's like a car wreck and you kind of have to watch. Expanding my vocab. for sure!

As I understand, brownish discharge is okay and should decrease, bright red blood means call your doctor. The length of time until you have no more discharge probably depends on how much was cut and how many stitches you have.

I love to look around a home renovation store. When we go home it's my favourite TV to watch, home renovation programs. I can hardly wait to go home and do something in my house, if only I had the great ideas I see on the shows.

My doctor said that I could resume normal activities after 2 weeks if I felt fine. She did say that for cycling and weight lifting that i should wear the abdominal binder for extra support for a few weeks. Swimming was ruled out for at least 1 month, :-(. I would never do anything the doctor said not to do. This is definitely hard when it comes to not going swimming but I am behaving. I just look at the pool everyday from my kitchen window and watch the children doing their swim lessons. There are a lot of children in the apartment building taking lessons and it's amazing to watch how fast they improve.

I did go for my bike ride after all. I do feel quite good, the road to the bank is flat and it's only 10 minutes away and I have a a very girlie girl bike which you sit up straight on. When I was waiting in line to pay my bill, the rain started, oh well just rode home in the rain and had a hot shower afterwards.

still sore?

Hi ladies,

My surgery was 3 weeks ago today. by evening and when I sleep my lower stomach & bladder still has a pretty sore/achiness at night. It really bothered me every time I turned over in bed last night. Not bad pain, just enough to make me a little uncomfortable and to notice. I haven't been on pain meds since about 6 days after my surgery, just occasional ibuprofen. Just wanted to see if anyone else is feeling this. I get worried something is wrong after all that has happened to me already.

wagerwitch,

I had total hyster on Jan 22nd. I have had a brown/yellow discharge ever since. My doc has done 4 cultures, the first 3 normal but the one last week showed bacteria that is usually found in the intestinal tract. I am on meds for a week and I also have some gas that bubbles out the front. I also have a light reddish stream in the toilet after I pee sometimes too and I can feel it coming out of the vagina. I'm VERY worried that I have a fistual. I'm calling my doc this morning about that.
Just when I thought I was done buying pads....LOL. Hang in there and hopefully it stops for you soon!

Hey Dodge, I'm at 3 weeks as well and I've been extra achy since Friday night. I overdid the working from home for month end and such and really paid for it. I'm starting to get a lot of itching so I'm hoping it's just a part of the healing process.

wager-ask your doc about it. Couldn't hurt and will ease your mind.

I"ve been reading "Eat, Pray, Love" I'm also reading "Playing for Pizza" and Salem Falls by Jodi Picoult. I just tend to drift off while reading! I'm going to go into work for a bit today just to line things up for my sub. I'm a teacher and we're on "year round" school. Kids go back on Thursday, but I'm taking an additional week off. (That way all my kids will be in school and I can REALLY recuperate!!")
I didn't take any pain meds yesterday or last night! I slept from 8:30-6:30 waking up twice I think. I'm just so wiped at the end of the day! I went to church yesterday and then a playdate with my 4 yo, so that was a lot for me. I have a twinge in my left side today. KInda stabbing. Not sure from what, but maybe just the night without pain meds??
Take care ladies!

Oh Boy! I feel ya! I am getting bored too. But when I have done a few outtings, I am beat quick! LOL. My brain is willing, just wish my body has as much energy as my brain thinks it has. I've been watching cooking shows, crafting shows, comedies, reading and making jewelry to pass the time. And some crochet. I want out! A few of my gal pals are getting together tomorrow for a Scrabble game and I am working on my hubby to get him to think it's ok for me to drive! "Daddy can I have the car please?" LOL. He's a sweetheart and he's just looking out for me I know. My instructions say no driving for 4 - 6 wks, and I am only 17 days post op. Won't be 3 weeks till Friday.
Indoprincess..............Puleeeeeze be careful if you get on a bike! That scares me!
Have a good day everyone. Be the princess that you are! And take care of yourselves. Make sure you laugh as much as possible! And don't read any books that will make you cry! My daughter is working on her Master's Degree in English, will have it in May. One of the books her thesis is based on is Ruth Hall, written by Fanny Fern. I read it yesterday. Typical of the time it was written in, 1850, had alot of sickness and death and worry. Don't know how many times I closed that book yesterday and cried and vowed I wouldn't finish till my daughter FINALLY told me it had a happy ending. I am glad I read it, but I got so invested in the story and would much rather laugh than cry!!!!!! Especially now, when tears can lead to feeling sorry for me rather than the heroine of a book!

Hello all!
I hope that everyone is feeling well today. I had my TVH on 1/22. I too am having discharge that is pink in color. However, my smells. Does anyone else have such a horrided odor. I am not kidding you. I can't even begin to explain it. My family says that they cannot smell it, but yet I can.

I was able to get out this weekend. My DH and DD and I went to a late lunch on Saturday for DD birthday which was yesterday. She was going to her grams yesterday.
Anyway, then I went with my DH yesterday to get him new work shoes since he had the front of it ripped off on friday when his foot was being crushed! Thank god for Steel toe and Met guard!

I was extremely tired when I got home. We also went to Sams Club and then the Olive Garden. I don't have much of an appetite since the surgery though. I also feel like I am in a fog sometimes. I am getting dizzy a couple times and well have had several hot flashes... I too had a lot more discharge after both of these ventures. Also, does anyone get tongue tied since the operation. This is happening all the time. I am also having trouble sleeping. My DH says it is because I am not as active as I use to be.

Anyway, I would appreciate some feed back on the odor. I had asked my doctor about it when it first started last week. She said she did smell anything. Well, at that time it was not as bad, not it is worse. What do you all think...

I hope that everyone has a great day!
