Is anyone still crampy?

Hi, everyone! I had my Hyst. on the 25th of Jan. and am now into my 3rd week of recovery. Although i'm back to work, i'm still slow-moving, tire easily, and am very crampy at the end of the day...

Is anyone else feeling this way? I just thought I would feel better than this by now...

Act,
Yes, however, I am not back at work. My doctor signed me off for 8 weeks. Today is not a good day. Lots of pain, more so than yesterday. Perhaps, it is because I did too much.

This is my third week post op too and I've noticed very crampy feeling toward the end of each day. It's nice to read that there are other women experiencing the same thing so it's must be normal. And if you will go back on some of the older surgery date threads and read many did there.
I'm praying for each of you!!!

3 weeks post op

Thanks for the confirmation, ladies. It's good to know that others are feeling the same way. I had a LAVH and Endo removal, and although i'm feeling better than last week, it's still a little tough sitting up for hours in an office chair.

Unfortunately, I only had two weeks off, but do get to work from home, so i'm laying up with my laptop during the afternoons. It seems to help a little.

Does anyone use a heating pad? I was wondering if that would help...

Tomorrow I hit 3 weeks. I am back to work since last Friday. I have not been able to complete a full day yet but everyday is getting better. I leave work around 3 or 4 and by the time I make my 50 minute drive home, all I want to do is take a motrin, hit the couch and fall into a coma. I feel swelly belly, cramping, move very slow and if I sneeze or cough, Ouch.

I wake up in the morning feeling like I can conquer the world then by 4 I feel like the world has conquered me.

I had my post op appt today, DR said all normal and everything looks real good.

I do use a heating pad that you microwave. It does seem to take the edge off. Anyway have pain up into the belly button area? I had this last week and I have it again now.
Today is a really bad day. I too am with a laptop. I am glad I had enough time that I don't have to go back to work right away. I work in an elementary school and I restrain kids etc sometimes. So I need to heal...

Hi Act
wow back to work already, I too had a LAVTH but with both ovaries out too. My op date was 1/23/08 I am fortunate to have time to take off until 3/18/08.
I cannot imagine how some of the ladies here went back in 2 weeks with 50 minute drives etc. My hat is off to you guys.
My doctor said 2-4 weeks, I said how about 6-8, you only get one chance to recover correctly. Dont forget, just because you dont have a big scar, you still had major surgery inside with 100's of internal stitches/vaginal cuffing etc. be careful. sorry you couldnt take more time to heal, rest whenever you are not in work.
Heat pads and advil do the trick for me.
best of luck to you

Act,

I live with my heating pad (actually, hot water bottle). It is so comforting. I still get the cramps and stabbing pains, but it has greatly improved. Had a hard day today though. Had to escort my 11 year old at the airport so he could go to Virginia to visit my sister. He was so excited! I'll miss him but he's been so good during my recovery that I wanted to reward him. Jetblue was so good to him too. Now he's waiting for the snow. We are from Southern CA so snow is a treat. I'll get lots more rest now, but I'll miss the guy.

Sandy,

He can come here...Ive got about 5" in my driveway he can have!
Im actually looking forward to the warmth of the sunshine instead of the warmth of my heating pad!
My doc said if all goes well at my followup on Friday I can even swim and hot tub! Im leaning toward allowing them to have a separate vacation from me. I may just lay around the pool and hot tub, go to the hotel spa...maybe go to citywalk a few days and catch a movie..or what I really would like to see...the blue man group...Im even going to have me a couple frozen banana daq's!

I'm feeling a little tired today, but not too crampy.. which is good considering I spent 5 hours out shopping for my sons birthday...which is in 29 minutes!! He already was given our used car, the trip to Florida, and $100...but since its his 18th, and first plane ride, and he's about to go off to college...I bought him a sanza MP3 player. That way if the plane ride scares him..or is boring, he can relax with his music. AND he can use it for a lot of other things like note taking at school because it also is a recorder, picture viewer, movie viewer, and a few other things I didnt quit understand...lol got a great deal to boot! With the extra memory cards I bought he can carry over 2000 songs with him at all times...good since he loves music.

Happy birthday to the other Valentines babies...And HAPPY VALENTINES to all of your sweet women who keep me sane.
Kim
