6 week check up

So, I have finally made it to the 6 week check up.
Things have been going well for me and the dr. said that everything looks great. The tendons are still a little sore but my husband is glad that we finally have the all clear! I am glad because next week is my birthday. The only thing that I have to watch is, my v. has gone numb (felt like it was asleep) twice. He said that pressure may be pinching off the nerve some but as long at feeling comes back, it's not anything to worry about. I am glad that I can now get back to my regular routines and really need to work out some. I have a wedding in 3 weeks and my tummy has gone a little soft. So, as long as everything doesn't start to go weird, I get a year break before my next check-up. Hope everyone else is well. Thanks for all the kind words and support.

Hey y'all,

Just did a little catch up reading.

Tracy- I had the sneeze/pee thing before. I'm hoping it diminishes now. Doing extra floorwork to strengthen the muscles etc. It sucks.

Kim-Wow. Not much to add. I pray things work out with grandbaby. That situation is a mess. Praying for your help and hope your doc can pinpoint the issue quickly. Sending a big hug your way while I'm at it.

Working hard these days. It's month end again. Oy! Almost done with this quarter for school and then I'm going to catch up on fun stuff.

Good to see all the healing going around.

Hi Everyone,
Well went back to work this week, and so far so good. I have worked two full days and made it through both just fine. Everyone at work is very understanding so it helps. It feels good to be with people again and out of the house.
Go back to the doctor on Friday for my 6 week check up. Can't wait to see how that goes. I am a little afraid about the exam, hope it doesn't hurt. I haven't had an internal exam yet, because at three weeks, my hematoma was still very large and tender and she didn't want to have me hurting more, so she decided we should wait until my 6 week exam. I was happy about that. I hope I don't start bleeding again after the exam. I haven't been bleeding for 2 weeks now and I am happy about that. Did anyone have bleeding after there exam?
well hope everyone is doing better day by day. hang in there, talk to you all soon, Denise

I have my 6 week exam tomorrow. I'm nervous too. I haven't had any discharge or bleeding for a couple weeks either. My bladder issues still confuse me (no urge to go) and I'm always afraid of the constipation, but I'm trying all the suggestions you all gave me. Even bought the Raisin Bran! That should help my iron level too.

For those of you on HRT, did you go on the patch or the pills? I have the patch, but wondered if the pills work better. The hot flashes are better, but the mood swings are still getting me.

I have worked three days so far and have been happy to be back. Boy am I exhausted today though. Two more to go. I like having human contact and brain work again though. Now if I could just sit down and do my taxes!

Sandy, Good luck at your exam. Let me know how it goes. I am having bladder issues too. Sometimes I feel I have to go immediately and then it feels like i am not emptying my bladder and then the next time I go it is fine. I don't understand it. As far as constipation. I am still taking stool softeners and GasX pills along with eating Raisin Bran every morning and I think it is helping, but I don't have a big urge to go either. I just have to make sure I give my self time to sit in the bathroom. I am anemic too since surgery. They have me on pills for that, I hope it is getting better. I don't have to take any HRT i kept my ovaries, so I am good with that.
Well good luck at the doctors, I will be thinking about you.
I am on my third day back at work tomorrow, It feels great to be back with people! ttyl, Denise

Hello everyone,
Sorry to read about the trials and tribulations. I see most are healing well and have the green light. I am still in the red light zone and was told another 6 weeks of bed rest. I think I will loose my mind, my body and my muscles. when I asked about exercise I got a dirty look. Doc ordered a cat scan cause I have a low grade fever and a smelly discharge and put me on zitromax and trogel? I went to get the abd and pelvic cat scan and found out it is $8000.00. I thought I would flip out. The Dr's offfice called me about my work excuse and I asked if tyhe knew this test was so expensive, she put me through to the Doc. He told me to just take the antibiotic and we will see what the culture comes back with. He said he was shocked. I will be researching another facility that will bill my insurance and then bill me later, can't imagine such a high price. after the surgery. Belly cramps are back so I will post again when things update. Glad to see that most are over the hump.

I'm so sorry you are having such a hard time. I had to go back on week 4 for a kidney infection and they did 2 ct scans. I'm fortunate they bill my insurance, so I did not worry about the cost. Find another facility, or call your insurance and they should be able to direct you to one. You need to find out what this is and get well! Bedrest is no fun. I was on it for most of my two pregnancies. Boring! That was before computers and the internet too. At least we have this site now! Amazon would have been dangerous though. I would probably have gone broke!

Denise, Thanks for the luck and I will let you know what the doc says, and also about the bladder issues.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts.
cafe...It depends- I have had some male doctors who bring in a female and others who do not. My current doctor does not bring a female in because he is comfortable that he knows me well enough and I trust him. I know a lot of male doctors now bring females in with them during an exam because there was a big thing going on where women were accusing male doctors of misappropriate things during an exam. Soon after doctors started taking female nurses in with them to avoid any chance of being accused. I have had a male doc auto bring them in when he first saw me, then ask the next time what I preferred. My new yummy doctor never brought one in and never asked me if I preferred but I think it was because we sat and chatted, joked, etc. before my first exam and either he picked up on my hate for having a lot of people around while in that situation, or he felt really comfortable that I had nothing in mind except getting well. Since that first visit we have become friends also so I think that matters also. IF you do not want the females there, just request it, they will do as you wish.

Ok, heres my update- I called my doctors office to tell him about the pain and the smell when we had sex, the continual discharge- not a lot at all but enough I use a liner...that (thank goodness) doesnt smell but is yellow, and my issue of urination..sneeze-I pee, laugh- I pee, try to pee, I pee then pee again, and again...never all out at once and if I go once and get up...I have to run back within a few minutes. I also wanted to talk about this continual ovulation pain issue and my v pain Ive been having....
So I call and instead of giving HIM the message to call me, they have a nurse call me. So even though I hate giving info to anyone other than him and really have BIG trust issues with anyone but him, I go on and tell her everything. She says "You probably had some left over tissue in there, dont use an enema though" hmmm I said UMMM I am not taking about anal..Im talking about my vagina! lol well, she said yeah she knew (guess she meant douche??) She said that sometimes theres leftover tissue that is left behind. I ask if that would cause everything I was experiencing or just the smell I had during deep sex. She said everything could be caused by that and just give it some time. I told her that I didnt have any "extra" come out or anything and the smell wasnt before or a few minutes after...but she said she understood. So not feeling too comfortable I ask her if she could please ask my doctor to call me because he told me to tell him right away how sex went anyway. She giggled then said "Im sure he didnt say that" UGH!!! so I tried to be nice (Im having a hard time doing that right now) and said please just have him call me. Well, I havent heard from him, and he ALWAYS calls me by the end of the day or even from home by 9pm if he cant at work, so she obviously didnt tell him, so Ill call again tomorrow I guess. Im also going to start a new subject to see if anyone else has went through this.
Ive had a low grade temp for quite awhile now and Im exhausted but I know the tiredness will be here awhile..ugh I just want to be better, run away from my life, and start all over...hehehehe

Im glad a lot of you are doing well!! Maybe working will be great for those going back also! good luck to you all. Remember, this is just a chapter in our lives after a chapter that wasnt so good. We have many more pages to fill in our books and hopefully therer will be more good pages than bad.

Good Morning Ladies,

I went to the doctor today with list in hand. I asked her about the peeing when I sneeze, cough etc. She did a little test there while she was doing the internal exam. I do have leakage. She is not the person who did the surgery. She said she was surprised that my doctor did not use a sling?? Well, so here is the deal. I am not healed, I may need another surgery to fix the bladder. We are going to take a wait and see attitude to see if it gets bettter in the next 6 weeks. She is also going to do a test where they cath you and you sit and cough, etc.... She said you can live with this or take care of it. I said I never, ever had it before the surgery and I don't want it now, it is embarassing. So much for not having to wear the pads!

Anyway, I go back to work today 1/2 days for the rest of this week and next. She didn't want me to go back at all... However, I need to work, I am going crazy at home. DOn't get me wrong I have totally enjoyed being off, but enough is enough... I am still on a weight restriction until I am totally healed. She said that I could have intercourse if I wanted to, but that I would probably bleed since I have a nice area at the top not healed. Anyway, I can use the Hot Tub, she would prefer for me not to use it everyday.

I will let you all know how I make out today... Wish me luck!

I hope that everyone is feeling better today. For those who are still not I will keep you in my thoughts!

Have a great day!
