"feeling" while peeing question

I had a TVH last 8 days ago and find that I have little "feeling" when I have to pee. I mean I sit and it happen but there is no feeling in that area. I tried to stop the stream to see if I really am numb there and I can't control it. This seems weird but did not bother me until last night when I was changing into my pj's and peed a few drops with absolutely no feeling other than the tinkle on my foot. I was devastated to say the least. Does this mean that I have damage to my bladder or other parts? If I have to worry about wearing depends so that I don't have accidents I'll just die. This has been the perfect recovery until this little snag. I feel great except where I don't seem to have much feeling at all.

My A&P repairs were extensive or so I've been told. I have a 2:45 appointment with the doctor and I'll ask for sure but I need someone to tell me it is normal--- please say that it is normal.

Kay

My doctor said it's just a part of the surgery. He said nothingwas touched near my bladder. I feel inprovment though. Please call your doctor if it continues much longer. Denise.

"feeling" while peeing question

I had a TAH on 10/907 and I still have that problem sometimes. They say it takes your bladder alittle while to recover from the surgery. It does get better!

"feeling" while peeing question

Hi Kay -- hope your doc was able to give you some reassurance.

I had a TAH so my surgery was different from yours, but I can tell you that it took a good 3 months before my bladder felt mostly normal again. During that initial post-op time, the stream wasn't normal and I had difficulty completely emptying the bladder when I went.

Now things feel much better; however, I do notice that I have less control -- when I feel the need to go, I can't dilly dally around. They say doing kegal exercises can help with that over time... we'll see.

You're still very early on in your recovery, so hopefully what you're experiencing is just part of the healing process. Best wishes and s.

"feeling" while peeing question

hi,
I have had some bladder concerns since my surgery. I am up at least once a night running to the bathroom.
I can't hold as much as I used to it seems.
When I am "full", I empty and still have that "holding it to long" feeling.
(I know tmi)
I hope that this will get better. Because of this, I hate to have anything to drink.
I guess things could be worse.
