Post Op Dr. Appt. Shocker!

Hello ladies !!! I had my post op appointment on yesterday and everything is doctor did throw me a blow...she stated that 'moderate' cancer cells were found in my uterus. This was a shock because my paps always came back normal. Thanking God the uterus was removed. Has anyone else had this happen?

How scary that must have been for you, but like you said thank God they took out the uterice. Did they do a uterine biopsy before your surgery? Just curious I would think not. Take care and God bless. Denise.

Post Op Dr. Appt. Shocker!

Hi there 24/7woman!

My experience was pretty similar. My regular gyn did an endo ablation and d&c in late october, and when the path came back on the stuff they had taken out she said that on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being cancerous, I was at a 4. She had done a uterine biopsy too a month or so before. The gyn oncologist said that he took a look at my uterus when he took it out and the bad stuff was on the side, but had not penetrated through. He took out the lymph nodes that these organs drain into (periaortal) and my path came back clear on those.

The uterine biopsy had come back clear, but I suppose she went straight in and got that tissue from the top of the uterus.

I thank the Lord for nudging me to go to the dr in the first place. My theory is that I pay so much for insurance that I am going to make good use of it. My parents never went nor took us kids to the dr unless an appendage was falling off!

Take it easy in your recovery and I thank the Lord that is out of you now.

Thank God for your going to the Dr. We never know but God knows. I was wondering if any of you are experiencing dry skin since surgery? I just noticed about a few weeks ago that my skin is drier. I lotion up every night I have gottent to the point that I don't shower at night anymore. It could be because of the cold weather but I never have had a problem with dry skin before, I have always had oily supple skin.

hey "dry" ladies....

Not to get off topic, but I have read other posts about the thyroid being out of whack after a hyst. I do take levoxthyroxine generic for low thyroid, but that will be one of the things that I will have my regular doc check to ensure that the amount does not need adjustment.

You might want to have that checked out!

My doc did the biopsy in November which came back fine. I also had an ultrasound done and that was fine. The cells were up at the top of the uterus. Ladies, thanks so much for your thoughts and well wishes...... I love this site !!!!
