Any weird cravings once your appetite returned?

well, I'm now 5 days post op. I've always eaten pretty healthy. I love food, though. I've never met any food i didn't like. haha. But, i just have not had an appetite. I think that is normal, though, for where I am at now.

But, one thing I have really enjoyed so far is red seedless grapes. Just 2 days ago I started to eat more solid type food.

I was craving a salad yesterday, so my husband made me a really nice fresh green salad with lots of yummy veggies.

But, today, I craved a grilled cheese sandwich. So, I ate that. I basically have just been eating whatever sounds good. I am trying to make sure I am eating enough each day, though. I am small to begin with, so I don't want to get down in weight, but I just weighed myself for the first time yesterday, and I'm only 1 1/2 lbs. below my pre-surgery weight, so I'm doing ok. I wish I could eat more, but I just do not have a huge appetite.

I am drinking a ton of water. I also really like to eat toast with jelly on it. I've also been eating cream of wheat with milk and blueberries in it. That is kind of "comfort food" to me because I used to eat that when I was a kid.

Oh, and yesterday I had a small piece of pizza, but that is all I could tolerate.

Other than that, I've just been eating a lot of crackers, toast, grapes, drinking water, and I try to eat 3 somewhat meals a day. It seems like it's not enough food, but as long as I don't loose more weight, I think I'm ok.

I am hoping by next week I'll start to want to eat more. :-) I love food too much to have this "no appetite" thing continue! haha.

Oh, when I was in the hospital, a friend brought me a box of chocolates. That did not at all sound good at the time. But, yesterday, suddenly it sounded good, so I ate 5 or 6 of the chocolates at one sitting. haha! YUM!! i obvsiously still love chocolate!! :-)

It is funny, though, because the foods i LOVED to eat before surgery do not at all sounds good to me right now. I love seafood, and right now, the thought of seafood makes me nautious! And, I also love Thai food, but the thought of anything spicy does NOT sound good to me. hopefullly that'll all come back because I want to love my favorite food again!

Take care!!
