Complications are rough, just when you think youre on the way to feeling somewhat human, they throw you a curve. Hang in there though Snowy_Owl, the anitibiotics will kick in soon and you will start to feel better! My Dr. had an antibiotic in the IV from the start of surgery so didnt send me home with any, hoping to eliminate the yeast infections i get frequently. My DH, ( who is a pharmacist) thought i should have one anyway but she is waiting till my 1 week appt. on monday. I woke up this morning with lots of pain and the meds are giving me really strange dreams, I am so tired and have called all my family who was coming to see me today and told them not too. I need to sleep! and sleep! and then try and get up and move some.

Thanks Specs Have you tried taking Acidophilus to combat the yeast? It is the same as in yogurt, but a lot more of it. I take it any time I'm on antibiotics and I haven't had a yeast infection in years.

Hi everyone
Just reading about the constipation. I am just getting better from it now. Dr. suggested Fleet edema. It worked but made me feel really sick and the BM's were really painful. So much so I thought I would pass out. Better now though. My father thought that maybe the stool softerners were causing the problems. He suggested psyillium?( not sure of spelling) husk. Stopped the softeners and started to eat the probiotic yougart and everythings great. Alot less pain and more enery. Actually had my first outing today to get some food at the store with DH. I can't see adding more chemicals to our bodies good for us.
Wishing everyone the best,
Lorraine

Well here it is, 12:30 and I'm wide awake. Dum-de-dum... what to do what to do? Dang I wish this insomnia would go away. I thought I'd be fine tonight... I really did. Today was my first day that I didn't nap. Although I still took it really easy all day, I skipped the nap thinking it would help me sleep tonight. WRONG. Sigh............

Tara,
What time zone are you in? It looks like you are 6 hours off from Eastern, but that can't be right.
I hope you get some sleep soon. Have you tried anything basic like Tylonol PM, (which just has Benedryl in it.)

Hey everyone.. I would have been right there with you last night! I was awake every hour with hot flashes, night sweats.... im soooooooooo tired! I have started HRT though, so im hoping this will go away in a week or 2. Being 54, i had already had 7mos of no periods so have been experiencing this for quite awhile. Thought i would manage without the HRT but its just not possible.
Tonight will be better right!?!?!

Hi Paula,
My mother had her TAH when she was 34 and she is on HRT now at the age of 66. She has had a hard time getting it lately, because of all the bad press, but she has no other risk factors for the problem it contributes to, and does have risk factors for the things it helps so she fights for it. She feels so much better on it than off.
